Hello all, I'm new and embarking on the 12 week programme from today. I have a lot to lose - 6st. I am aiming to lose 2st by end of this year.

I look forward to reading your posts, and if any of you have any tips for me around staying motivated that would be much appreciated! I can see that there is some great progress being made on here :)

Hi Velveteen77. We have the same weight loss goal - I want to lose 2 stones by the end of this year ( it's my birthday present to myself - I am a New Years Eve birthday ). We can do this 😊😊😊😊

Just last week. I've lost 3lbs xx

I'm also doing the C25k! I've been doing that for the last 3 months and am on week 7 of 9. I took it slowly to start 😊

Well done for your first weeks loss :) I haven't started the C25k yet, I downloaded the app yesterday. I simply cannot imagine myself running effectively at the moment but I'm determined to do it. You must be enjoying it to stick with it for 3 months :)

I started from a very unfit point and did the first few weeks a number of times, not moving in until I felt ready ( ready meant able to speak after finishing and able to walk the next day 😂)

It's completely addictive and the program is tried and tested by 1000's of people, loads of whom are on here. I am now on week 7 run 2 ( that's happening tomorrow.)

It didn't have a huge impact on my weight when I first started, but I started changing shake ( lost a couple of inches from my waist, hips and bust.) An extra benefit from running has been making me think more carefully about what I eat - I'm not doing all that running just to go and spoil it by eating rubbish - hence also joining this group.

My advice would be to give it a go even if you don't think you can - it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination, but the hardest part is definitely seconding to start 😊

I have only joined here today but have been watching for a while. Good luck - we have taken the first step, and I don't know about you, but I feel like I might just do it this time 😊. The support network and positivity on here is like a tonic 😊

Hi and welcome Velveteen77 :)

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread, it has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a guide to healthy living, rather that a specific diet plan.

Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the monday group weigh-in, which I have posted today, but which Zest will be posting in future. The latest thread can always be found in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Wishing you all the very best :)
