We lost what we had
That's why it hurt so bad
It set us back a thousand years
We're gonna make it up
Though it's gonna be rough
To erase all the hurt and tears
Is this how it feels for so many of us, those of us who have tried so many yo-yo diets? This is why I like this forum, because so many people encourage each other to live a better lifestyle, and not try and diet.
Life is not about reaching some weight that your mind is telling you is where you should be at, or when you look at yourself in the mirror not being happy at the way you look. You are who are you right now at this moment in time, and that is a great way to start your day. Now what you do with your day is up to you and no-one else.
So you all know if you get off that bus the stop before you normally do, or take those stairs rather than the lift, or spend twenty minutes today doing a swim or a jog or a cycle, then you have made a small improvement in your life. Again if you say no to those crisps, or that cake, or that doughnut then that too makes a difference.
If however, you do not do those things and your day is run-of-the-mill same-as-all-the-other-days then do not beat yourself up. So I will end with another song:
I am what I am
And what I am needs no excuses
I deal my own deck
Sometimes the aces sometimes the deuces
It's one life and there's no return and no deposit
One life so it's time to open up your closet
Life's not worth a dam till you can shout out
I am what I am
I am what I am
Remember you may never be an Olympian, so enjoy being who you are and taking each day at a time. I managed to lose two pounds this week, but I still continue to make mistakes on my journey as I head toward my personal goals.
