Starting again 😦

Hi all I'm new and as of Monday I will be getting back on the wagon. I lost 2 stone last year but Xmas tripped me up in a big way and I lost my motivation. I don't know how much I way as when I got on my scales it said error so I guess it must be a lot lol. At least it didn't say only one at a time lol .

I'm going to try and keep myself motivated by buying myself treat (non food) when I reach my personal goals but being slimmer will be a treat in itself . How do others keep themselves motivated ? I hope everybody has a lovely day 😃☺😆

My motivation is as follows :

Loving my smaller size clothes. ...I refuse to buy bigger ever again

Less aches and pains ..... I can now walk 6 miles without painful knees

Praise from my GP ..... no longer need medication to reduce blood pressure

Compliments. ..let's be honest, we all like hearing that we look good , and at age 64 it's even nicer to hear than ever!

Hi Missmiff. Well done for losing 2 stone last year, it sounds like you know exactly what to do so I am sure once you get back on the wagon again you will find your motivation. This forum is great for motivation. It's 24/7! Always posts to read and people to support you if you need help. I have been on here for about 6 months now and it has definitely helped me to get to my goal. Good idea to set goals and buy yourself non food treats. From reading posts on here it seems it's best to set small goals that are achievable. Maybe try to find something that you really want and put a picture of it where you can see it every day as a reminder why you are doing this. Best of luck to you :)

Im going to stick a picture of me when I was slimmer of my fridge to remind myself I can be slim again my ultimate goal is to have a 50s pin up style photoshoot when I reach my goal 😆

That sounds like a great idea and what a great treat that will be for you. You can do it! :)

Hi, loving your idea for a non food reward when you reach your goal, photo shoot sounds fab! Give yourself mini treats too though, say every half stone? You've done it before, so you can do it again! Good luck!

ps my scales say error when they need a new battery, maybe yours are the same

I put a new battery in and the ran off out of the door lol 😁 there working fine now I've already thought of my mini treat new nails not had acrylics since Xmas 😊

Hi and welcome Missmiff :)

It sounds to me as if you're right back into the right headspace, so from now on in, it's all downhill! ;)

Have a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen, (bottom if you're on a mobile) and read our Welcome Newbie post. It has a link to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a great place to start. It doesn't give a specific diet plan, but gives guidelines for healthy eating.

Consider signing up for any, or all of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

We also have a monday group weigh-in and if you click follow on my profile, you'll get a notification when I post it on monday. You can have a look at the latest thread in the events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we meet to exchange ideas and get our daily fix of inspiration and motivation :)

Wishing you all the very best :)
