A weekend of Surprises

Well, my weight loss has had a slow start. Four weeks in and only 2 pounds down.

So, I decided to up the exercise this weekend. My partner and I managed an 8 mile walk on Saturday morning and we broke the 20,000 steps target for the day by some margin.

Sunday we gardened all morning and walked all afternoon. After a healthy supper I decided to do an aerobic video workout. How surprised was I when my partner donned his shorts and joined in! If laughing burns up calories we did really well, as we jostled, bumped and crashed into each other in totally unco-ordinated fashion.

As I completed my weigh in this morning, my partner asked me to check his BMI to see how "under-weight" he was too. He is now hooked on losing his excess 10 lbs. The challenge has been set for which of us will lose 10 lbs first.

So my healthy month may not have lost me lots of weight, but at least my partner has now joined me for the rest of the plan. It feels as though I am starting again with new vigour.

  • great keep up the good work

  • Thank you for replying. I'm still aiming for my 13 lb goal loss. It might just take longer than I expected!

  • Glad to hear it 😊 Great post

  • Thanks for replying. I'm still aiming high. It might just be easier if my partner is also refraining from a glass of red in the evening. Definitely easier if he starts walking in the evening with me.

  • Support from partners and family is invaluable 😊😊😊

  • That's lovely. Nothing better than having someone that isn't only supporting and motivating you but wants to take part with you.

  • Well I am so pleased that we have roughly the same amount of weight to lose to be at the top of the "healthy" range. Another 10 lbs each doesn't seem a daunting target - yet!

  • that's great! lovely to have fun whilst working towards your targets!
