Hi Rockstar2k4,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NhS forum, I would recommend having a read of our Welcome Newbie post - it is in the Pinned posts area (top right-hand-side of the homepage). There are lots of useful posts there, and hopefully will be a good starting point.

I can see that timetoact has recommend the nhs calorie counter - on this site. It is good. Also, many people use Myfitnesspal too - but I'd recommend ensuring you use the BMI NHS calculator to check your recommended calorie range. I'll pop back in a moment with a link to the correct page for the calculator:

nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss...

The NHS BMI calculator is on the right-hand-side of this page.

Lowcal :-)

Hi gp, welcome to the group. If you enter your details into the BMI tracker, nhs.uk/tools/pages/healthyw... it will give you an idea of the calories you should eat to have a steady weight loss. I use the myfitnesspal app to record my calories and I link it to my fitbit which records my exercises. You will find that you get fantastic support on this forum. People at all different stages of their weight loss journey who can provide encouragement and motivation as well as some sound advice. Good luck to you. I hope to read updates on your progress in the coming weeks and month.
