This is so new to me I'm don't normally do things like writing posts I just read them. I am one of thousands of people that has tried and tried over the years to loose weight and sadly the weight just keeps adding on. But today is a new day I now weigh the heaviest I have ever been and I'm determined to loose it so the first thing I did was join here. I know cant do it alone so knowing there are people like myself out there I'm sure I will achieve my goals.

You've taken the first massive step towards the new slim, healthy you. Well done! :)

Have a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a phone). Start with the Welcome Newbies thread and read all the hints and tips, the motivational ideas and inspirational stories. Follow the link to the NHS 12 week plan and if it appeals to you, download the charts and sign up for the emails. For extra support, why not sign up to our re-boot challenge too?

Join us for the monday group weigh-in, which is friendly and welcoming and helps to keep you accountable. The latest thread can always be found on the home page, in the events section, beneath the Pinned Posts :)

For motivation to get moving, we have the Kilometer Zero challenge and a beginner Couch To 5K challenge. Both are a lot of fun :)

Last but not least, be active on the forum, because it's here that we form friendships and receive constant boosts to our resolve.

All that's left for me to say, is that you can do this and we can help! Onwards and downwards! :)

Hi jaybell, I too entered at the heaviest I have ever been even when I was pregnant I wasn't that heavy but that was 5 weeks ago and believe me you won't look back, this is a fab forum with lovely people who give advice and encouragement, we all need help, it's not easy and if you don't have much encouragement from home you certainly get it here. You have started day 1 hopefully on the 12 week plan as it really educates you about foods. Keep checking the forum for inspiration and advice good luck we are in this together and together we can do it. 👍😊

Hi Jaybell. Glad to hear you are determined to lose the weight this time. Just take it small goals at a time and bit by bit you will get there. This forum is great and I have managed to lose more weight than I ever have before with all the support on here. Hope you can join in the Monday weigh in that moreless has spoken about in her post. Everyone is very supportive and encourages you no matter whether you have lost, put on or maintained. There are always people who reply to your posts with advice or motivation and I have logged on here when I felt like I needed a boost and it really helped me. Hope it helps you too. Best of luck :)
