LOST CONTROL

STRUGGLING.

LACKING MOTIVATION.

FINDING EATING WELL HARD.

WONDERING IF I SHOULD START ALL OVER AGAIN SINCE I HAVE JUST FALLEN OFF THE WAGON.

MY PROBLEM IS MY FAMILY EAT BAD FOODS, AND IT IS SO HARD TO SAY NO WHEN THERE ARE TREATS IN THE HOUSE...

Mentally had enough. This is so damn hard. I even started avoiding the kitchen...

Man, I hate failing.

  • Hi! changing your lifestyle is never easy, I would imagine most of us have foods in the kitchen we are trying to avoid but they are their for our family members. The only thing you can do is stay strong and give yourself small goals pehaps just to stick to your allowed calorie intake for one day or up the exercise for one day then congratulate yourself on achieving that, reward yourself with something other than food, bubble bath, new book, make up etc something just for you, even put a £1 coin in a jar for every day you manage to stick to it as the days progress the easier it becomes when you have achieved what you wanted treat yourself with the money saved.

When I go to the cupboard/fridge now and I see the chocolate goodies/crisps (my downfall ) I imagine how long I would have to walk on the treadmill to burn those calories off it stops me eating it because I want to lose weight more than I want the food. Keep posting on here like you have if you need help, I don't get much encouragement at home so I look for success stories and encouragement on this forum and thanks goodness it exists.

Ask yourself what you really want more a healthier you or the food that is causing you to be miserable? Start again today we can all help each other to do this, go for it!!!👍😊

  • Wow Itsbab, that was brilliant and inspirational, I'm going to take notice of that. Thank you

  • Difficult isn't it but how much do you want to succeed? I had a bad day yesterday, a very bad day, but I got that out of my system and started afresh today, I always think it's a good idea to look at the bigger picture, i.e. what you've achieved over the week not to look at just one day.

It is particularly difficult when you live with a family who are continuing to eat those treats, my mouth waters when my husband sits watching tv with a bar of chocolate by his side. Try to stay positive, good luck, have a nice weekend.

  • I agree with itsbab, my unique thought any time I work out hard at the gym (HIIT, circuits classes) is " I'm not lazying around anymone in my life, I'm not pig out on food ANYMORE IN MY LIFE, I'M NOT SPENDING HOURS AND HOURS WATCHING TV ANYMORE IN MY LIFE"

I lost 10kg and I am so happy with myself when I look at myself in the mirror. Clothes that I used to wear 10 years ago fit me perfectly right now and everyone compliments for my new and attractive body. It was a very long path, not finished yet, but at the end all the efford I made paid back.

Then, sorry for being honest, blaming your family is not a very good excuse, this is something you're doing for yourself, to get happier, helthier and more satisfied with yourself. If your family doesn't understand you should sit with them and have a serious conversation. Tell them you're not happy right now and the fact they don't support your decision is not helping at all. I'm sure they will understand and try to motivate and support.

    Good luck and stay strong

  • Well, Aasma-Halima, that was an heartfelt post, all I can say is you've spoken to people that have all been there and bought the t-shirt but still keep going.

We all know what you are going through so take note of what is said. There is so much support on here so take it in and try the suggestions. It really works knowing others know exactly how you are feeling and what's more they care.

They have been wonderful in helping me.

    Take care of yourself 👍.

  • You only fail if you don't get back up. You have not failed! X
