Done my second run of C25K/Ramadaan/Muhammed Ali

Gosh it was so tough! But I got through it. I am glad I started this workout plan, because it has made me think twice about what to eat, and what not to eat. I have kept within my calorie allowance, and am also eating much smaller portions. Oh and I am eating totally healthily. I have no cravings for junk, or bad foods at all. My body has just been craving wholesome recovery foods!

Ramadaan is coming this week, and I hope I will be fasting. I have planned my morning meals, and my evening meals, so I make sure I don't over eat or eat anything bad. I am also planning on carrying on with the C25K plan, as I can have breakfast early in the morning, and then go for the run as my energy levels will be high.

It sounds hard, and I know it is going to be hard. As Muhammed Ali (RIP) said " Don't quit. Suffer now, and live forever as a champion".

That is probably one of my favourite quotes of MA, and it has gotten me through so much over the years. I am not only doing this for myself anymore, I am doing it for MA, for what he fought for, what he taught us, and of course to become my own champion.

HI Aasma-Halima,

Well done for doing your 2nd run of the C25K, and it sounds like you're having a great weekend.

I like the quote you have given from Muhammed Ali (RIP) - it is an inspiring one. I'm glad it's got you through a lot of things over the years, and I am sure it will sustain you further as well.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend and wishing you another great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

It is great to see that you're making progress and that your body seems to have adjusted well!

I am not a Muslim but have done a bit of research into Ramadan a while back as I was interested in it from a cultural point of view...

If you're planning on fasting to the extent of not drinking during daylight hours please be careful when it comes to exercise, particularly with the temperatures seemingly on the up at the moment!

Drinking something before going for your run may just not be sufficient to keep you hydrated throughout the day...

Rather safe than sorry! But I hope you'll be able to continue your exercise regime. 😊

Hey!

Thank you for your comment. I am actually in two minds about fasting. I won't do well at work without water, and really do not want to stop my exersize regime due to not being able to drink water. (I may post about this)

I only fast because everyone around me is fasting... Otherwise I wouldn't say I am religious at all. I don't even have the right to call myself a muslim...

Thank you for your love and support xx
