Hi. Just wanted to say hello to everyone as I'm new here. I'll be starting the 12wk Weight Loss programme tomorrow. Still trying to find my way around the site and reading various posts. It's lovely to see all the positive responses from others who have been there.
I did try Slimming World many years ago and although successful, somewhere along the line I forgot to 'diet'. So here I am, looking for something more sustainable. I intend to take it one day at a time, slowly but surely, educating myself to eat healthy and control portion size.
Here's to the next 12 weeks.

Welcome Dilemma1 to this forum. You will find lots of help and encouragement here. If you haven't already, you might want to check out the Monday weigh in thread posted by Zest and the various challenges pinned on the right of the screen. Please feel free to join in any that take your fancy. Also have you read the Welcome newbies post (also pinned). This has lots of helpful info to start us off.
Wishing you success with your healthy eating plan (I refuse to say the 'd' word) 😄
You sound like you have the right approach. The key word here being "educate"....you will be re-educating yourself to enjoy your food in smaller quantities, but there will be no need to deny yourself any of your favourites - just spread your treats over a longer period of time. Looking at it one day at a time is excellent, and gradually those days turn into weeks, then months and all of a sudden, you find yourself thinking just who is that person in the mirror?
Welcome!!! I really hope you'll enjoy the forum, and join in with anything you like the look of. Especially our Monday group weigh-in sessions, which are really supportive and well attended.
Like Anon-E-Mouse says, there's lots of help and encouragement here.
Have a great week, and hope to see you around and about.
I agree with DartmoorDumpling the 12 week plan does educate you on what you are eating I find myself making better choices and am on week 3 I have only had 1 chocolate given to me by my daughter and I even saved it for later when having a stressful family problem day ( before I would have hit the chocolate bars/ crisps etc) I am sure with advice and encouragement even reading the daily posts you will find it easier than you think. Good Luck on your journey. Bev
