Hi all!

I hope you're having a good weekend :)

I came across this article about flexible dieting which I found very interesting and helpful, and I thought I'd share it here:

awesomesupplements.co.uk/ar...

The phrase that really stuck with me was: "sustainability is the NUMBER ONE factor in creating a successful dietary approach".

For me dieting used to be like an on/off switch - either I was going all out obsessively counting calories and living off spinach, or I just ate whatever I wanted and didn't care about gaining weight. But more recently I've been trying this flexible diet approach - for the most part I eat healthy food with lots of veggies and lean protein, but I allow myself some snacks. I'm happy to say it's been working really well for me (for the most part; I'm still struggling with portion control, but it's getting easier).

So if anyone here finds it difficult to stick to a strict diet, consider giving flexible dieting a go! Maybe it will work for you? :)

Hi, pleased your diet is going well. I've read the article and it seems to be pretty much how I approach eating. I record my calorie take every day but tend to look at the overall picture on a weekly basis. I don't think there is any point in cutting yummy stuff totally out of your diet because long term it's not going to be sustainable. the old adage of a little of what you fancy does you good is true, it helps lift the mood. On the downside my weight loss is very slow, but what's the point in losing weight quickly just to put it all back on when you start eating 'normally' again?! I'm approaching it that the healthier way of eating has to become the norm.

Interesting article. It reflects the way I think of the 12-week plan. It also makes monitoring my eating a lot less stressful than trying to be on point all the time and means you don't really have to feel guilty if you've messed up somewhere.

All in all, I think it's definitely given me some positive things to think about with food and meals.

Really interesting article and I agree totally! Sustainability is the key 😊 And I am absolutely with you on the 'dieting' on/off switch!! Lol 😊

Hi Arikuja,

I am going to read this article later this week, as I am taking a break from reading health related articles tonight, as I can overdo it sometimes! But I do intend to read it later in the week, and many thanks for posting it. I can tell from people's responses that it sounds like an interesting one. :-)

Hope you're having a great weekend.
