Light bulb moment πŸ’‘πŸ’‘πŸ’‘πŸ’‘πŸ’‘!!

β€’15 Replies

Weigh in this week and I've lost 1/2 Ib Yipee!! It's been a long time coming !

I would like to say a huge thank you to Ruth _canal runner for her post yesterday ' Thursday pledge having a productive day' it really got me thinking and reflecting.πŸ’

Since Jan 2016 I've really struggled with my weigh loss journey and while I can identify ongoing health issues and the recent loss of my best boy Calvin as factors, I felt I had lost my way.

I was ok with getting my exercise in due to the fantastic challenges run by FizzyLiz and moreless, but I did not always make the best food choices so weigh loss was static. Yesterday changed that πŸ˜ƒ Reading Ruth's post I decided to have a 'productive day' and while out on my walk I started to reflect on why I am stuck, yes it's been an emotional time but then a 'lightbulb moment' I don't feel productive !

Feb 2015 I was given early retirement from work following a stroke and until then I had worked full time from age 16yrs. Once rehab was finished I had loads of time on my hands and was focused on improving my health and fitness. I have realised that over the last last few months my mood had dropped and the reality of what I had been through and where I am now in my life is scary !

As I walked in the sunshine I thought how my life had been and how it has changed but most importantly how I want it to be, and that is healthier, happier, fitter and fulfilled πŸ˜ƒ

From today I will be more focused on my week, I can plan my food and exercise, now I need to start planning the rest of my life 'being productive' πŸ˜ƒ( well that's feel better !!)

Here's to a productive week for us all

Don't we just love light bulb moments Flossie?! Suddenly the cloud lifts and the way ahead is crystal clear! I'm feeling a bit like that myself :)

You've had a tough time recently, but your future's looking rosy. You can do this with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!

Onwards and downwards, my friend! :)

Oh moreless thank you so much{{{{hug}}}}'

I have known for a while how much I missed work and the feeling of doing something that made a difference. It's funny sometimes how things just click !!

It's a huge relief to say it and shared it and today made a start at doing some voluntary work ! A bit daunting but so do-ableπŸ˜ƒ

I'm so pleased you are also finding that moment , we will be unstoppable !!!

I couldn't be more happy for you Flossie. You are a carer by nature and to lose that was really a bitter pill to swallow.

I'm sure that by being able to give again, you'll regain your feeling of self-worth and feel 100% better.

My whole attitude to life now, is do what we can, when we can and appreciate every second of it. We don't know what's around the corner, so let's enjoy what we have now :)

We're already unstoppable! :)

Hi Flossie,

I think it's great that you have had a light bulb moment following your reflections, and I agree with you that Hidden 's Thursday Pledge post was certainly extremely motivating, and I also have carried the word 'productive' with me since reading her post, and now you and she are motivating me even further to aspire to be as productive as I can. I do have moments of procrastination, but having pledges and reading motivational posts really spurs us on.

I think we're getting into a bit of a 'flow' at the moment, as the energy of the forum seems particularly buoyant at the moment - and it's great that we can all help one another when times in the week are more challenging, or maybe one or more of us is feeling a bit down.

Really glad you're having a good week, and that your reflections have helped you to see the future in a new light with lots of potential and productivity ahead.

Wishing you a great day, Flossie!

Lowcal :-)

Thanks Lowcal{{{{hug}}}},

I think the linch- pin( is that a word or one I've made up ???) that guides the success of the forum is ' the fab 5', the support is priceless, inspirational and motivating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Fabulous !!

I feel the same about you, Flossie - you are inspirational and motivating - as are all the people in the forum - it's such a great community. :-)

I love using the time out walking/running/cycling to reflect, away from all the usual distractions. Really great to hear yesterday was productive in that you actually considered how to be productive! There are so many options open to you now you're retired, lots of ways to remain busy and productive, just need to try a few things and see what you want to spend your time doing :)

Thanks Ruth {{{{hug}}}},

You certainly pressed the button for me, and I'm going to use my walking time more productively, it was very liberating πŸ˜ƒ

Once again huge thanks
