The Wanderer Returns!

Good Evening Everyone,

Well, it's been a while since I posted here, about 2 months I think, I have dipped in and out of the forum so I've read some of the interesting and amusing messages. However, I decided to give myself a complete break from weight watching and healthy eating plans, it had become a real chore and I was no longer enjoying planning meals and counting calories, I thought I'd give a more relaxed lifestyle a try, no pre planning, no calorie counting and checking fat content of everything I buy from the supermarket.

Since I last posted a message I've been on holiday, had a few family meals, been to my granddaughter's Holy Communion, had a weekend away and a lovely reunion lunch with a group of girlfriends, so as you see, lots of opportunity for eating and drinking, although to be honest, I found I could no longer eat the same size portions as I used to, I got that full up feeling quite quickly, and I have learned to listen to the voice in my head that tells me to 'stop, walk away from the table'. I hadn't weighed myself over the last couple of months and my new, smaller clothes still fitted but I was aware they were beginning to feel less comfortable, so last week I decided to get back on the wagon after the bank holiday weekend and that is exactly what I've done.

Last Tuesday I stepped onto the scales, I'd gained 10lbs, and if I hadn't already made up my mind to get back to basics seeing that would have left me no option. Far from being downhearted I once again feel, excited and enthusiastic. I've been planning my meals and counting calories and have quite easily got back into the old routine, but with renewed determination, 3 days in and already I feel better, less bloated.

So, here I am, back in the fold and ready to go, not sure whether I'll be joining the Monday weigh in as my week started on Tuesday, but who knows? I'm still considering that one. It's good to be back amongst like minded people.

  • Welcome back jenever 😀 sounds like you had a lovely couple of months and it could of been so much worse than 10lb. So well done the plan obviously works and changes people's mindsets about portion control and healthier eating. You'll soon loose those 10lb and more. Good luck. Claire x

    It's a good feeling when you pick up the reins and take back the control and I'm sure that those 10lbs and more, will bite the dust in next to no time :)
