Ladies, it's here. The most hated TIME OF THE MONTH! And all I can eat is chocolate, ice cream, haribo etc. This needs to stop. I need to do well all month, not just 3/4 weeks! How do you cope on this occasion and how do you control the need for sweets xx

Congratulstions, mine came round for her week's stay yesterday!

I'm lucky, I'm "weird" I tend to lose more during this time than others. I seem to retain water during ovulation...

If the hormones tempt you to the naughty stuff, maybe try and plan a bit further ahead?

I didn't normally plan more than 2 dinners ahead, but of late go much further. I have my whole day, breakfast - lunch - dinner - snacks, planned ahead up until now Sunday. So far I have managed to always stick to that plan. Just keep going back and see if you're allowed what you fancy - maybe even plan in some chocolate - just don't have more than what you have made space for...

I have plenty of naughty things in my snack section of this week's plan. 😊

Good luck! 😊

It's awful isn't it? The week before I'm usually ravenous and want to eat everything in sight, but seem to loose a little weight that week too so it balances out luckily. But the week itself? Awful, I need chocolate! I've found by calculating in to allow myself a few squares of dark chocolate throughout the day seems to work. It just means I eat a lot of veg and soup to keep the rest of my days calories low so I stay within my count. Mines next week so we'll see if I manage to follow my own advice! ;-)

I've been feeling so tired and had cramps (which I don't usually get) as well as a monthly headache so I'm concerned as I'm not doing my usual exercise. I really didn't fancy it and didn't want to force it.

The only thing I can thing is is finding alternatives to the sweets e.g. maybe honey or smaller cookies instead of a bigger biscuit. I guess I've been fortunate not to have a chocolate craving, and maybe sorta got used to not having it or fighting my need to have it. The need to lose weight and not see a red - on my calorie app is keeping me avoiding the junk. And the fact that I go on holiday soon and I'm not restricting myself too much then maybe.

I find a few days before I constantly want to eat, then when my headache starts a day or two before -maybe- I don't even feel hungry. Then afterwards I'm constantly hungry again- that's the problems I have the needs to eat so much before and after!

I hope I still lose weight even though I'm exercising less this week :( Last month I managed to exercise but this month it's not good

I've been on this week and it's been awful :( Sugar cravings at their worst.

I go to a quiz on a Wednesday night and they put on a spread of food about 10:30pm. It was pies last night and I had to sit there while my mum and partner had pies!

It was mental torture and I ended up just sitting in the bathroom for a while till they had finished!

Must say I am very glad this morning though that I didn't cave :)

I empathise completely

I crave chocolate and sweets before my period and once I start I cannot stop

I find filling up on protein helps

Lean meat, eggs and beans etc and I eat as much as I need to satisfy my appetite

If I want something sweet I have meringue lots of chopped fruit fat free natural yogurt topped with nuts and seeds and a drizzle of honey

I usually gain 5 -7lbs in water retention and lose it immediately afterwards

I still have the odd day where I'm out of control but on the whole I manage it this way without too much damage

Good luck
