I made it to my first Nordic walking session. Just an hour and a gentle 1st lesson. Stand up straight, shoulders back, roll on the feet, arms straight! Head up and walk - well the walk bit was simple, my left arm wants to bend and shoulders feel better as they un-roll from a day in front of the computer. So far I have learnt Gear 1.
More to follow next week as I go for Gear 2!

I agree, walking with poles is an excellent all round exercise as you use both legs and arms to move yourself along. They also give you added confidence on steep or slippery tracks. I hope you enjoy your walks whilst you exercise, and it is a good social opportunity to meet people and chat if you are not too breathless!
I have had to revert to using one pole now I have the dog's lead in my other hand, but at least the dog gives me a bit of a pull up the hills....
