JUST JOINED

I have just joined and would like to say hello. I would like to lose a stone and a half. I can be very good or very bad but I know I need to be somewhere in the middle most of the time. I have managed to lose about half a stone but struggling now. Any help, support or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Miemie1969,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I would recommend checking out the posts in the Pinned Posts area, and joining in with anything that you like the look of. Maybe join the Monday group weigh-in if you like the idea of a weekly weigh-in - the group is supportive and well attended - it goes on all day on Mondays so that people can report their weight at whatever time is convenient for them. The next session will be tomorrow morning, and the link will be in the Events section (right-hand-side of the homepage below the Pinned posts).

Do join in if you'd like to, and in the meantime, I would recommend looking at the NHS 12 week plan as it is a really good structure and is full of helpful advice.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

Thank you for the info. I think Thursday will be my weigh in day as only weighed this morning but would it still be OK to join in weight loss won't be good though.

You can access it via Healthunlocked.com as well as via the NHS Choices site. :-)

I'm the same as you, I needed to lose a stone and a half too to get where I wanted to be. I've been doing the 12 week plan (I'm just starting week 12 now) and I highly recommend. You can sign up so that they e-mail you each week with the plan and I put mine up on the fridge so it is in my face, a good motivator. This group is wonderful and there are many kind people on here to support you, you've made a good start coming here. The Monday weigh in's on this group are a good motivator too.

Good luck!

Thank you for your Son1 how much have you lost in 11 eleven weeks. Hope you don't mind me asking.

Hiya, I'm pretty pleased. I'm aiming for 9 stone (I'm 5'3") so that takes me more into the middle of my ideal weight range of between 7.5-10 stone. I started at 10 stone 6lbs and now 9 stone 2lbs 8oz :-) I've done 11 weeks, not sure I'll quite make it to 9 stone in the 12 weeks, but did a lot better than I thought I would, but more importantly, I'm not craving junk (esp chocolate) like I used to. I still have a bit, but if you can be really strict with yourself for the first week or so (that's by far the most difficult bit) the cravings die down (if you have that problem), I don't know, but I was a nightmare!!

Oh yes, chocolate is my thing and once I get the taste for it that's if. Well done on your weight loss .

Thanks :-)

I was a full-on chocoholic. I still like it now (well, love it) but I am now capable of saying no and I don't crave in the same way.

Good luck, you can do it! :-)

Hi I have just joined myself and like you want to lose about one and a half stone. I struggle in the evenings. You will find loads of support on here. I find the Apple and Cinnamon Ryvitas are brilliant for a snack. πŸ˜€

Hi Carolanneflow, I'm like you with the evening munchies thanks for the tip about the ryvitas. Am so fed up with the cycle I get myself into. If I can sort myself out even for a few days I hope it will get easier and I feel better. Good luck this week. If you want let me know how you get on.

Hi Miemie yesterday went really well and today is so far so good. I am either very good or I eat every thing. How are you doing?

Thanks for the message. Today hasn't been to bad. I actually felt hungry today just before dinner haven't felt that for a while cos I'm not actually hungry, just eat for the sake of it. That's why I need to lose the weight.
