New beginnings of a self confessed slug.

Having filled in the BMI counter, I am shocked, for the first time in my life I'm overweight. I've always been skinny but having hit menopause its literally all gone down hill. My waist has disappeared and in just a year I have gained half a stone. My diet hasn't changed but my capacity to process food has. I don't exercise, but neither am I a slug. Trousers that were only last year fitting are now more than snug.

So I'm going to calorie count, Help!

just had my morning cup of tea with half a sugar, well it's a start.

Let's see how I get on.

Hi Flashkelly,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community. Have you seen our Welcome Newbie post, in the Pinned Posts section (look to the top right-hand-side of the homepage) - it is a useful post for suggestions and helpful information provided by existing members, as well as links to the NHS 12 week plan, which is a fantastic plan, which many of us are currently following.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

If you like the idea of a weekly weigh-in, then do join us for the Monday group weigh-ins - see the Events section (below the Pinned posts) for details of that.

Lowcal :-)

Thanks,

Taking it slowly, just calorie counting and making sure I stay under recommended amount. Why is it when I can't have cake, I crave cake, and I don't even like cake that much!

Will do the weigh in Monday, but need all the encouragement I can get to keep going.😳

P.s Menopause is such fun, Not!

Do not despair Flashkelly , you are not alone in having a menopausal weight gain 😕. I won't bore you with my entire weight story, but I gained a whole 2 stone in my forties / fifties. BUT I have now lost it , and maintained my healthy bmi of 23 for the past year. If you click on my profile pic or name you will see some of my previous posts . Lots of fellow oldies on here, so you are here amongst friends 😊
