Worried I'm not doing enough.

I started the 12 week plan on Tuesday and Im worried that I'm not doing enough. Every day I've been under my calorie count by 100 calories or so, I'm having 5 fruit and veg a day, no fizzy juice, no crap. I went for a run on Tuesday, walked 7.5 miles on wednesday, yesterday I ran again and done a fitness dvd and today I swam a km, I'm worried that I'm not doing enough for the weight to come off. Is it unrealistic to think I should feel different already? I thought maybe I'd feel slightly different already..

Sounds like you're doing loads to me.  I try to aim for 1400 cals, but often go over by 100 or something.  Just eating the more fruit and veg and cutting out the junk will make a huge difference to your health, and the exercise, even better!  Good luck, the weight will come off if you carry on like that for sure, but it takes time.....

I have felt the same at times and the weight has come off very slowly at times but it WILL COME OFF as long as you are true to yourself with calories and portion size which has been my downfall at time guessing sizes instead of weighing them hope this helps

Don't forget that you only gained weight a few ounces at a time each week, and you shouldn't plan to lose weight any faster than 1 or 2lbs a week.  You need to allow time for your skin to shrink back gradually!

If the scales don't show a huge loss after your first week of controlled eating and exercise, it might be because you have strengthened and toned up your muscles which will offset the weight of the fat burned off.

Also, women have monthly fluctuations due to fluid retention which means one week you won't see a loss and the next a big loss!

Try and eat/drink all of your allowed calories as later on you will need to reduce them as you get close to your target weight, and your body mustn't think it is being starved or it will attempt to hang on the lbs.

Don't worry so - you will get there as you are doing all the right things!  Take care not to exhaust yourself, it is important to stay well and sleep soundly.

Try not panic when you are near goal ( like me), I've lost a fair bit, over 4 years ( 2 stone) and have had phases, my last being Autumn last year to now, had setbacks, plateaus and gains!

I've recently lost a bit I gained, which took a while, as I over estimated my allowances calorie wise.

For now relax and see what your weigh in brings, it all sounds great! X
