Ok so I put my height and weight into the Bmi calculator on the nhs website and it said I could have 1700 calories per day to lose weight. I downloaded an app for my phone and put the same measurements in and it said I could only have 1200 per day! How confusing is that! I'm sure at 1200 calories the body will go into starvation mode......
I decided to do 1500 calories a day and see how I go, how is anybody supposed to know what calorie count is right for them when they make it so confusing π

I have eaten 1400-1500 a day and lost weight, MFP put me at 1250 or 1460 for 'active' plus any exercise calories. I think it's important not to be hungry or feel deprived. However some people go very low and are successful. I suppose it depends on the individual.
