2 weeks in. Hola 😊

Right, completely new to all this but here goes. 2 weeks into diet using myfitnesspal app (calories counting. 1200 calories per day) and exercise, I am 8lb lighter and have lost 2.5 inches from my waist! It's a start! I've had 1 wobble (the day after my diet started) but I got right back on track the next morning and have stuck to it. I'm in the zone!!! I'm doing 6 days per week exercise (mainly exercise bike or swimming) with 1 rest day on a Sunday.

59lb to go!!! I can & will do this! πŸ˜€

  • Hi NotSoTiny,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS community forum.  You sound like you're enjoying your start on your weight loss journey, and that's really great!  I'd like to give you the link to our Welcome Newbie thread, as well as a link to the Monday group weigh-in - just incase you fancy joining in with a weekly weigh-in in a group setting.  You might prefer to do your own weigh-ins - but I thought I'd highlight the option of a group too.  It is supportive and friendly.

    Here are the links:

Wishing you a great week ahead.

    Lowcal :-)

  • Will defo join in on the weekly weigh in. Thank you 😊

  • Set yourself mini goals of 7lb and keep counting I have set myself 1000 a day as its easy to go over and exercise each day and weigh ,plot a graph and plan those calories every morning so that you know what you are going to eat. Keep how you want to look in mind , for me it was my lovely daughter who has reinvented herself over last year. Now we are the same weight! Good luck . mind over matter x

  • Wow well done to you. I have myfitnesspal app so I'm pretty rigid with my planning. I think that's key for me really. If I can stray, I will massively so I'm not doing cheat nights or anything like that. Just trying to stay focused. Thanks for your advice πŸ™‚ Xx

  • brilliant ,you go girl!

I am assuming you ate a girl if not ,you go guy!πŸ˜ƒ

  • I mean are ..not ate as that would surely put you over your calorie count ..lol

  • hahaha modge i know it was just a typo but hilarious :D

  • Hahahaha yes I'm a girl. Thank you @modge 😊

  • lol modge - that was a funny typo!  :-)

  • Great results and I agree it's all in the planning.ive had MFP app for yrs  but just started using it recently,  what a difference it's made and what an eye opener as to the amount I was eating.

You will achieve your goals especially now with such good results.  Wishing you well on your journey

  • Thanks greeny4. I'm so glad I've found this as I think reading other people's journeys and knowing I'm not alone in this battle will defo give me a boost on the difficult days πŸ™‚

  • I am 2 weeks into the diet too ... lost 3lbs in the first week .. have 21lbs to lose ... finding it easy to follow and using myfitnesspal too ... just need to up the exercise ... well done you!!!!

  • Thanks foxyladyfi good luck with your 21lb. You can do it!!!

  • Thank you ... just browsing around the BBC Good Food site for some inspiration for some low calorie meals ... some lovely ideas!!  I am very determined to get rid of my 21lbs ... I lost 2 stone a few years ago and as always complacency sets in and you think its ok to eat whatever you want ... and hey presto 2 years later you have put it all back on!!!

  • Oh I know what you mean. I've done that myself. It's so easy to fall back into the habit of eating anything because you've lost a bit.

  • Are you sticking to 1400 a day or did you use the BMI calculator to see what your allowance is?  I was on 1600 according to the calculator but have adjusted it to 1400 now

  • I've gone by myfitnesspal allowance of 1200

  • Think i will see how i go this week on 1400 and drop it next week if it feels right

  • I started on 1400 and now on 1300 as a boost. 😊

  • Let me know if it works!

  • Yea, it's working, over two stone off 😊

  • Hi Anna ... have lost 6lbs in 2 weeks ... this is definitely the way forward ... had a few treats too but just cut back the day after ...how are you?

  • Thank you, having a good week so far 😊

  • Wow well done you that's amazing. I'm using that app it's really help me too think about the off rubbish is in food and the way I look at food.keep up the good work.

  • Thanks 😊 I love the app. I'd be lost without it.

  • Well done you 😊 Good luck!

  • Thank you. Onwards and upwards (or downwards where the scales are concerned)

  • Hi, your doing really well. Keep it up! :-) I'm on my fitness pal too & am following the 12 week weight loss plan. I am also feeling the difference after 6 days of exercise. Its tough but am gona hang in there. Your post is motivating!

  • Thanks Jaz21 Its hard getting and keeping in that right frame of mind but the results will be well worth it.  Good luck with your weight loss too. We can do it!!!! πŸ’ͺ🏼
