Hi! I'm new😀

Hi my name is Claire. I have 2 lovely boys, 2 and 5 that keep me on my toes and a dog that needs walking, a good start to my exercise! Since my wedding in 2008 I have put on a lot of weight especially around my tummy. I joined nhs weight loss 4 weeks ago and have lost 7lbs so far but I need some moral support to keep me going. I have also found a friend in davina 5wk fit. Trying to do this as often as possible and enjoying it. Would love to from some of you x

  • Hello Claire.............what can I say , the support here is fab!

    The Monday weigh in group is great too, Lowcal and a few others run it, there's always a mixture of folk, losers, maintainers, gainers and new starters.

    My weight loss journey began about 4 years ago, I lost 1 1/2st, 12st 6lb, to 11st, March to May 2012 ( for my 50th), from 11st to 10st 8lbs summer 2013, then maintained winter 2013 to October 10st 12lb, and then 10st 4lbs   Jan 2016, I gained 4lbs a while ago, now reloading  those , just 1 1/2lb to go.

    I've had lots of support on my final stage well since October, I've also tackled some nasty hormonal bloating too, which now seems under control.

    Just remember 1lb at a time, it all adds up and no doubt you are feeling a bit better already.

  • Hi Diana, thanks for your reply, well done on all your weight loss achievements, I didn't loose any weight this week so needed a bit of support so not to comfort eat. Like u said a little weight loss at a time x

  • You'll find plateau hits, at some stage, it's prob a few small nibbles that have stacked up, keeping you on a maintain, rather than a loss, just be more mindful too.

    If plates you does hit sooner rather later, it's fairly easy to fix, deal with when you need to tho

  • I did have a few bits of left over easter eggs this wk and not done as many steps, try to do at least 6000 a day, as dog been poorly so no long walks. I think it definitely adds up but at least I didn't put on, trying extra hard this wk, no nibbles for me !!!

    Well done you for losing 7lbs FANTASTIC. I started last Thursday so I have my first weigh in on Friday. I started a little diet club at work there's 3 of us in it so far.. We are all going to pay £5 a week as we normally would at diet clubs, but all money will be payed back out at Christmas. A win win win situation really. I say diet club we have decided to call it the healthy eating plan :) 

    So any tips will be gratefully received. Once again well done

  • Thanks for replying Tracey. Great idea on your weight loss club, I think u should use your Xmas money on a treat for you 😀 I didn't loose any weight this wk so needed a bit of support and think this forum is a fantastic idea! Never joined one b4, not even on Facebook!!

  • It is a great thing and free too! My friend at work who is in our "healthy eating club" has been a member of a diet club for 3 years has paid the direct debit every month gained 1 stone 3lb and payed £792 over the 3 years!!! I am hoping this forum will be a great tool for me.. 

  • Wow that's a lot to spend on weight loss when this is fab and free!
