Foods to increase metabolism?

Can anyone help me with what foods help boost your metabolism? With being limited to foods and exercise still thought it might be worth trying to eat foods that might help better with my weight loss plan as I am just ending up picking in the wrong things. Any advise appreciated !

Hot spicy foods. Have you ever noticed that when you eat a very spicy meal like a hot curry or chilli how you perspire

I don't know that any foods increase your metabolism, but to avoid hunger some foods keep you full for longer, lean protein and wholegrain carbohydrates for example,

I also think exercise helps but I'm not sure of the science. I know I just feel boosted afterwards😊

If you exercise before eating you metabolise more efficiently i.e. I tend to run before breakfast or before dinner. Also sometimes what you want is to stay feeling full so you're not tempted to snack between meals so metabolising slowly can be good too. Wholegrain food like brown rice is great for this. You're not necessarily getting it wrong by the way. An inquisitive mind, trial and error, openness to new things, all useful attitudes to have :)

Useful info Ruth CR 😊 I usually have s banana before swimming, but prefer to eat after exercise, it just feels right, so good to know I am doing it right 😊

Green tea with a bit of fresh lemon :) (the lemon is optional but I hate the taste of plain green tea.)

Make the tea with hot water (wait for the water to stop boiling before pouring) and it releases an anti oxidant known as EGCG which several studies have shown increases your metabolic rate.

Side note: Green tea also contains caffine so its better to swap this for your morning tea not just before bed :)

I don't know about increasing your metabolism but fibres are a great way to make you feel fuller, stopping you snacking. An adult should have an average of 25g of fibre a day, but most of us don't manage to consume that number. 

It's recommended to have at least 5g of fibre for breakfast. Bran cereals and some fruits, like bananas and dried fruits are high in fibre. 

So are green veggies and pulses, and these tend to have low calories, such as courgettes, peas and lentils.
