Beer
Best of luck CW. I also like beer but switched to wine some time ago, i still like the occassional pint but since the start of the year I have pretty much stopped drinking alcohol, (maybe once at the weekend), The difference is noticeable, no more snoring at night and my joints etc feel much better. When I drank real ale I felt that my joints ached. Of course cutting down also makes weight loss much easier as 1 pint of beer equals around 200 calories and who just has one pint when they go out? John
Good luck! I think it is such a positive, great thing to do a lifestyle change not just for yourself, but for your family's sake as well! So many out there overlook the fact that their health affect the loved ones around them as well!
(I LOVE beer and I totally understand where you coming from, but honestly it is not that hard after 2 weeks. If you are interested, Wil Wheaton, who is famous for his love of beer, wrote 2 very helpful and funny blog posts about his experience on 'drinking less beer and move more'. --> wilwheaton.net/ I have found it very supportive!)
