When two stone overweight two years ago, I never thought I'd fit into a size 12 LBD at age 63, but here it is 😊

In the past when I was struggling I found it kept me going to know that someone else had been there, succeeded, and survived !!

It took me a year . Being semi retired, my eating tinetable is flexible. Basically I did not ban any foods, just calorie counted everything, tried to eat more vegetables and more protein ( 2 or 3 eggs for a late breakfast filled me up) usually with ham or wholemeal toast, and fish/meat/veg in some form for my main meal about 6-7pm,. I always WEIGHED pasta and rice to begin with , now I can guess fairly accurately and I still shared a bottle of wine with hubby twice a week, or the odd chocolate.

I used "myfitnesspal" to calorie count and I still check in on there once a week now . I reached my target BMI 23.5 last april and maintained within a 0-4 lb range ever since.... despite two cruise holidays, Christmas etc .

I firmly believe that a slow loss of a pound or so a week, most likely stays off longterm . 😊

well done you look amazing wish i had a body like that :)

Ah , made me blush , thank you! Not so great undressed, I wont be sporting a bikini like Helen Mirren, that's for sure, but acceptable when fully clothed!!

Thank you All, a little black dress is only a prop... what matters is who we are and how we feel, so if losing weight helps us feel good, then its worth all the effort! Good luck everyone!

Looking fab! Swit swoo :)

Very svelte! This was just the right moment for me to remember how great it is to be size 12. I'm still niggling around trying to lose a few more lbs but I also mostly fit into size 12s. You look very slim - and it's not just down to the magic powers of a good LBD, as proved by the amazing legs you're showcasing there too :)

Ruth... today's fabrics with a little added stretch are indeed a blessing! At least we don't have to resort to girdles and roll-ons like my mother did fifty years ago ! πŸ˜•

Thank you Everyone, once again !

At any stage in our journey it is great to reach a smaller size , whatever that size may be. But most importantly, its how we begin to feel about ourselves, more confidence, self respect and general enjoyment of life.

I left it quite late to improve my quality of life, but all you "Young Uns" have years and years of good health and confidence to look forward to. Don't let a biscuit binge stop you! 😊
