Around the world in 80 days - please post your kms/steps/miles for Saturday 13 February (Part 1)

Dear Travellers

The hula dancing brings a smile to my face. What a great night. So good to see all of us getting stuck in and shaking our bon bons :D :D Never thought I would see Ricky wearing those coconuts :D :D

Today we are on Day 50 of our epic journey around the world. We are now more than halfway yet we have so many wonderful places to see and exciting experiences to be had.

We have island hopped from Guam to Micronesia and now to the Marshall Islands. Today we are leisurely kayaking to as many islands as we can and will stop and do some snorkelling along the way. Look at the clear blue waters and white sands. Before you get in the kayak, please make your way to Daniel, Idris and George for your suncream, hat and sunglasses. Its going to be a scorcher today.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and manages to clock up some steps/kms/miles. It is so brillant that have over 60 travellers that check in every day. You are a motivating force for each other.

Happy Travels everyone :) :) :)

  • What a pain the weather can be Steve :(

  • Hi Steve, just a nudge for K's for sun and mon, so that Liz can do the stats :)

  • Oh.. uh. 1km for Sunday and 6.1km for Monday :)

  • Thanks Steve :)

  • Fab night who would of thoughts my coconuts would fit Ricky !!

  • He's got a loverly bunch of coconuts! ;)

  • Very lol !!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  • Afternoon everyone

Sorry I didn't get around to posting my km yesterday, total for Friday 7.02 km. I just about reached my goal, today is likely to be a less active day but I'll report my Saturday total later. Have a good weekend everyone.

  • Not a problem mrsg, delighted that you managed to reach your goal. Good luck with today :)

  • Thank you moreless, I hope you're feeling better today. Remember to take it easy and have some rest days, you certainly deserve them.

  • I'm feeling much better thanks mrsg and those are very wise words. I had completely failed to have any rest days :)

  • Would someone like to join me in a double kayak please? I have no sense of balance and can't stay upright in a single! :D

Well the sun shone today and was perfect for getting out for a walk. Set off, hatless and gloveless and with a T shirt under my jacket - what a silly old fool! It snowed!! :o However, it had the effect of making me walk faster, so I soon worked up a sweat! :D

Managed 9.6K's today and feeling much happier with myself! :)

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement and support. I don't know what I'd do without you all :)

  • Hi Moreless,

Yes, I'm up for a double kayak ride with you. Those waters look so enticing - but we need to balance to ensure we don't take an unexpected dip. :-)

Wow, just seen your comment about snow! Well done for doing those Kms, and glad you're feeling happier.

I'll be back later to report my Kms, but just wanted to say 'well done'!

    Lowcal :-)

  • Thanks Lowcal :)

As inviting as the water looks, I'd like to be able to stay on the surface for at least some of the time! ;)

    I definitely wasn't expecting snow! :o

I'll look forward to catching up with you later :)

  • Well done, Moreless - it was absolutely bitter out there today!

  • Did you have snow?! It's actually laid here! :o

  • It tried, but hasn't really settled, apart from higher ground. We quite often escape it out here.

Be careful out there, Moreless, no more falls!

  • LOL! I shall tread very carefully and the bike won't be coming with me :D

  • Walked a distance of 9km today.

  • Well done Arbitdude, what a pity we couldn't have walked together :)

  • Thanks, we can walk together sometime!

  • Fantastic! :)

  • Hi everyone just did 7,501 steps today.i have not been out so food a bit of exercise in doors. Karen xxx

  • Well done Karen :)

  • 4.7 km treadmill 72 lengths of pool. I am hoping this is me back on track.

  • Yaaaay Aqua! Fingers crossed! :)

  • what is 72 lengths in kms? :)

  • 1.8K's :D

  • Considering going to the bar, i'll let you know..

  • I hear the beer calling you! ;)

  • Im at the bar. Wales have just scored a cracker! Put me down for 7km!

  • Woohoo! I'm loving that bar! :D

  • Evening :-)

I've completely lost where I am and I think I even missed Ricky last night !!

Anyway, I think I need to report yesterday (which won't take long) and today (which is slightly better !!)

Me - probably about 1k walking around during the day - first day of half term so a bit busy at home !

    Mr L - 4k dog walks

Me - 16.3k run (that's 10 miles :-O !!). No further walking for the rest of the day - not one single inch. I've been on the sofa reading a book all the rest of the day !

    Mr L - 5k dog walks

  • Woohoo Lucca! A10 mile run! WTG you! :)

1/2 marathon here you come and it'll be easy peasy! :)

  • 6.4 km today, it's been awful today rain, hail, sleet and snow !!!

    Hope for better tomorrow πŸ˜ƒ

  • That sounds grim Flossie, we just had the snow :)

You still managed to clock up your K's though :)

  • Calvin always needs his walk 🐾🐾

  • Hey I didn't log yesterday 7:2km for Friday and 10:5 km for today :)

  • Thanks for the update Cazmaz, well done :)

  • First day of the half-term break and just pottered about so it's 4187 steps today. Aiming for a good walk out in the wintery sunshine we are promised tomorrow!

  • Well done for today Saga and fingers crossed for decent weather tomorrow :)

  • Hi all.

Another great stopover. I would like to book a pedicure and then swim alongside your canoes. I would enjoy group holidays far more if FizzyLiz was always the tour guide.

Me, Saturday which now means spinning class and getting soaked in freezing rain -twice although not as bad as last week. Spinning class was wonderful and like several other people in the class I then did a weights session and went on out to breakfast to a really nice healthy cafe. There was also errands, shopping and a museum plus a few short jogs on the running machines between weights sets (another great idea from Lowcal) and my total added up: 50.5k my personal best!!

Anyway I lost the last of my four woolie hats today so I may never be able to leave the house again.

  • I've just had to pick myself up off the ground Gonti! I'm speechless! What a phenomenal result! You sound so perky too! You have single-handedly completed 6 travellers required K's - I'm awestruck! :o

I'll get knitting right away, it's the least I could do! ;)

  • Apart from the cost in woolie hats this challenge has been utterly brilliant for me. I've discovered spinning classes, and the Marshall Isalnds, have Ricki Martin on my play list and best of all am walking much much further than before Xmas and I am even jogging gently, a bit. Knee is so.o grateful πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  • I couldn't be more pleased for you Gonti :)

  • WOW, 50.5ks is amazing!

  • Hi lovely travellers

Everyone is doing amazingly well and I know that without this challenge I wouldn't be doing as much exercise as I am! Swimming twice a week, probably, but 10km every day on the exercise bike....probably not 😁!

Today I have done 10.3 km on the exercise bike and 2684 steps.

Hope you've all had a great Saturday.

    Nic πŸ˜€

  • It's amazing isn't it Nic? We're all doing above and beyond and some have gone from the sublime to the totally gobsmacking! :D

    Well done you! :)

  • Sorry none for me today!

  • Not a problem bd, thanks for letting us know :)

  • Evening to Everyone, kms for today 1.60, 13th Feb. Managed to get to George for my suncream, hat and sunglasses, he was ever so busy.

  • Well done Marianne :)

I'm sure I heard George saying he was leaving a gap in his itinerary, just for you ;)

  • Thanks moreless. Must tell you a funny tale, I was in hospital for an operation and the aneathetist said think of something really nice as I was going under I was heard to say oh George. I found this out later as the surgeon was named George and he thought I was speaking about him, I fibbed and said yes but it was GC. Hope you are feeling much better. Brings a smile to my face.

  • LOL Marianne, I bet that made the surgeons day! :D

  • Ha Ha I have to say he was a good looking Greek.

  • Ha ha, either George would have done then! :)

  • GC still first choice.

  • I agree! :)

  • 2.66 kms today 😐

  • Well done Beryl :)

  • Hi Beryl, did you clock any K's on sunday? :)

  • Yes I put them in Sats by mistake - I believe. I think I did 3.23 kms.

  • Thanks Beryl, that's great :)

  • 12.58km of walking around London window shopping. I did stop in to hummingbird bakery for a slice of cake though! 😳

  • Woohoo! That was some window shopping trip RAF_girl :)

Let's hope you walked off the calories in the cake :)

  • Probably not it probably had my daily calorie allowance in a couple of bites! It was worth it though :)

  • LOL! :D

  • That blue water looks so inviting hope we can dive in!

7720 steps today, who knew you could do so many steps house cleaning to music! β˜€οΈ

  • Where there's a will, there's a way Fran :) I bet we're the only people around that deliberately look for the long way round, or the most difficult and least efficient ways to do things! :D

  • Hi Fran have you got any K's clocked for sun and mon, so Liz can do the stats please :)

  • Hi Moreless, having trouble opening posts hopefully this one will work, 6957 steps yesterday (Sunday) and 5308 today ( Monday 15th) β˜€οΈ

  • This site is getting worse! :o

Thanks for your steps Fran :)

  • 3.04kms today for me

  • Today being sunday Beryl? :)

  • Ah! sorry yes - shall I do it again?
