Around the world in 80 days- please post steps/kms/miles for Wednesday 10 February (Part 2)

Dear Travellers

I think you all have truly deserved relaxing on the steamer today especially Moreless's altercation with her bike and the verge and her helmet 😳😳

Tonight you will be having Charleston lessons on the dance floor- outfits provided. Gregory Porter is back and will be singing all night long to guide us with our Charleston dancing and make sure we have lots of fun. Beer hose pipes and ice cold presecco all night!

Mr Fizzy and I spent today in Preston at the adoption matching panel for a little girl. It was an unanimous big fat YES πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ Will have introductions on 25 February 😊😊😊😊

Happy Travels everyone 😊😊😊

  • Hi having fun and games with my pedometer today and finally lost it whilst walking! Oh well it was cheap and rubbish so now using app on phone for the time being. I think I had managed over 10, 000 steps today.

  • Best thing that could have happened to that pedometer! ;) Glad you've been able to use your phone instead.

Great number of steps Pog! :)

  • Wow FizzyLizzy - how amazing the you have kept this thread going----and you have all that on your (happy) plate. Salute of full respect to you and Mr Fizz.

Today I wore the pedometer a bit indoors. There is no winning! :)

  • I'm absolutely fine thanks :)

    We're all winning! :)

  • Are you trying to say we finally got the hang of using the pedometer?

  • I think pedometers have minds of their own and work when they want to! :)

  • Sounds like humans! :d

  • How true! :)

  • Congratulations to you both, fantastic news so pleased it all went wellπŸ˜ƒ

Roll on the 25th, not long to wait xxxx

  • Wow Liz,

I hope that you find a lovely daughter and that you will be a happy , healthy and prosperous family. Amazing too, to make a good life for an otherwise unloved ( presumably) child.

And yet you can still be bothered with this.

The sun shone for the first time in weeks up here in Edinburgh, and no rain!

Forget the gym, went for a run along the shore, looking out over the Firth of Forth up to sunny Fife, lovely!

Managed 6.3 km (done it before on bike so know the distance) .Pilates class inspiring but no steps there!

  • That sounds lovely Susymac :)

  • Hi Suzymac, I hope everything's ok, because we haven't heard from you since this post? :)

    My results for today are:

    Steps and walks: 9kms

    Wishing everyone a great night.

    Lowcal :-)

  • Thanks for the good wishes Lowcal, everything's calming down nicely. It's a good job I don't wear mini skirts, because the knees are a sight to behold! :D

  • Poor dog must be knackered gonna report you to the rspca"

  • Ooooh, what a great double act! Wtg you two! :)

  • LOL :-D Great new picture !!

  • Just miking the wounded soldier act :D

  • Aw you've changed it.

    It's a little....'dull'...if you don't mind me saying :-) You've gone all 'corporate sensible branding' !

  • Didn't think I could get away with the milking any longer! :D

I shall keep looking for just the right pic :)

  • I think the dog should join this challenge, he must be racking up some kms!

  • Yeah - if anyone wants to borrow the dog to take with them on their walks, please come and help yourself...please....anyone....I'll pay you... :-)

  • LOL! :D

  • Congratulations!

  • Fantastic K_o_g :)

  • Hi Keep_ on_ going - did you clock up any kms for yesterday and today? :)

  • What great news a little bit of fizz for the little fizz! 🍾 can we have Bellinis this evening from the bar please, 20k from me insanity, speed training and, a run round the estate to get my 25,000 steps in over estimated the estate leg this week so managed my 20k without having to trot round the house!😊

  • Amazing stuff Prin! :)

  • A relaxing day on the steamer with 12.2 k to report. Was thinking of getting my bike out soon, but after Moreless' experience I think I'll wait. Sounds very painful - hope she's OK. Bet she won't be able to walk tomorrow - bruised and stiff. So we'll have to organize a committee to massage her and ply her with pain killers and just generally keep her entertained.

As for Mini Fizzy that is fantastic - really exciting. One of the most special things that can ever happen to you!

  • Thanks for your concern JC, it was painful! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't be too bad tomorrow :)

I'm loving the whole idea of the pamper moreless commitee! What more could a wounded soldier ask for?! :D

    12.2K's is a great total! :)

  • Stop milking it, moreless :-)

  • Hey, ya gotta take it where you can get it! :D

  • Lizzy so nice you have adapted at last! Enjoy your precious princess!

  • Congrats on the matching panel Fizzyliz.

It's a whirlwind once the introductions take place; I remember from my own experience it was an exciting time and nerve racking too. It made it very special when our two children chose us too; enjoy every moment πŸ˜€

    Today managed 5.9km.

I'm sure Mr Porter will happily dedicate a song to all the wonderful forever families.

  • What a lovely story you have yourself Ruth. It's really heartwarming :)

    Lovely K's too! :)

  • 6.4 miles walking total throughout the day including 10 mins on cross trainer as have Been to the gym also completed 8.2 miles on the exercise bike.

    14.6 miles in total.

  • Woohoo Angie!! That's fantastic! Wtg you! :)

  • 6 km's :)

  • Well done Dave :)

  • That's super, Dave 😊

    Keep going πŸ˜‰

  • 8.7km for today. On target for my 100,000 steps this week

  • Woohoo henlady, well done you! :)

  • 3 km for me today - I have added a pedometer to my routine so I'm counting a bit more distance :)

Hope you are feeling better now Moreless and not too battered and bruised! I hope your accident won't put you off cycling again.

  • Well done for getting a pedometer to work for you Sueper :)

I'm feeling much better now thanks and I haven't been put off cycling. I'll just have to learn not to be such a clumsy clot! :)

  • I did something similar when my leggings got stuck on the seat - right down on my butt!

  • It happens so quickly and that feeling of helplessness is horrible. I was thinking about the difference between adults and children. Children are expected to fall and skin their knees, but as adults, we are expected to remain upright :)

  • Children also run everywhere, haven't got quite so far to fall and are a lot more flexible. 😎

  • Are we ? No one seems to have told my brain that !!

  • I know the feeling! :o

  • You're always upside down - so you're an exception😈

  • No No - I'm the right way up - it's everyone else that's upside down :-D

  • Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Fizzy πŸ’

That's fantastic news, especially after the long wait and hick ups along the way !!! I'm so pleased for you both ( soon to be three 😊)

That calls for a celebratory cocktail tonight 🍸

My total for today is 9.46 km .

  • Fantastic Elissy :)

  • hi Lizzy just to let you know had a good day and did 3657 steps today take care Alan xx

  • Wow Alan, Wtg you! :)

  • Fantastic number Alan. Well done! Glad you are feeling better πŸ‘

  • hi there Bu-dog many thanks to all of you for giving me the strength to do what i can, your a wonder family/friends Alan

  • Evening Lizzy and fellow travellers

What fantastic news Lizzy, I'm delighted to hear your wonderful news. No doubt you and Mr Fizzy are thrilled and can't wait to bring your new little girl home and start your family life together. To find the time to keep this thread going with all of this going on is amazing, thank you so much for your efforts you really are a super star.

My total km for today 11.17 km, I reached my goal and made a bit of extra effort to make up for moreless while she recovers from her little accident. On a more serious note moreless, I hope you're not too badly injured.

  • Mrsg, you're a star!! How fantastic of you, I'm touched and thrilled that you've smashed your goal of 7K's right out of the park!! Three cheers for you! :)

I shall be absolutely fine, thank you :)

  • Morning moreless

I'm loving your new profile picture but hope it isn't accurate, how are you feeling this morning not too battered and bruised I hope.

I'm delighted to have helped out with the extra km's, it seemed such a shame not to take advantage of the dry weather after my complaints about the miserable wet stuff. My legs are a little stiff today but I'm going to keep my 7 km target in place as a little challenge to myself.

  • Do you do stunt comedy falls as well mrsg. We'll need someone to provide the entertainment as well as the kms :-)

  • Morning Lucca

I'll leave the entertainment side of things up to you, your comedy duo with moreless is legendary.

  • Hi all, Lizzy, brilliant news about the adoption!!! Moreless, I must have missed the original post but gathering you had a bike related accident?? Hope you are ok and still intact πŸ€•

    Steps today 5892 β˜€οΈ

  • My whole silly story is on the wednesday part 1 thread Fran and I'm just fine now thank you :)

Well done for your steps :)

  • Thank you Fran :)

  • Congratulations on the small Fizz xx

    I did 5.8 Km today

  • Great stuff Britdiane :)

  • 6.1 km today

  • Great stuff Phil :)

  • Two dry bright days in a row. I'm sure we're going to pay for this! It helped with the walking. I managed to clock up 15630 steps, 10.7kms. I had 2 hours gardening in between dogs walks but I don't think the pedometer counts that!

Never mind, hit my 10k target.

Off now for a cold prosecco and a bit of Charleston watchingπŸ€—πŸΎ

  • Fantastic Bu-dog! :)

  • What fantastic news!! Many congratulations to you and Mr Fizz πŸŽ‰

I'm on track with my weekly goal and today have done the following kms:-

    Exercise bike - 10.1 km

    Swimming - 1.25 km

    Steps - 2738

    Nic πŸ˜€

  • Woohoo Nic, you're doing really well! :)

  • Hi

18.32 km for me Wednesday. Great news for you Fizzyliz hope everything works out well for you.

  • Yaaay Mimsta! Fabulous number! :)

  • I was thinking today about how many people must think of you while they're out and about clocking up kms, and wondering if you could feel those good vibes coming through the ether. Then now we have the news that the adoption process has passed another hurdle for you - it seems the vibes are working ! Yay :)

And here's 6.93k - of cycling - a small offering, but hopefully of some help :)

    Happy travels! 🚒 🚀 β›΅

  • Not small at all Ruth and every K helps :)

  • 11 kms today 5 of which running :)

  • Woohoo Nussaybah! You really have a handle on the running now! :)

  • 6.8km from me today

  • Good going Garfield :)

  • Wednesday I did 3.2 km's, but no packing or sorting because my body is still screaming at me.

Off to bed now Nitey Nite all

  • Well done veganista, I hope your body's feeling better this morning :)

  • 8:2km for Wednesday :) congratulations on your happy news, that's wonderful! Xx

  • Great number Cazmaz :)

  • Morning all,

congratulations to you both liz what fantastic news 😊

Moreless im hoping you have a speedy recovery!

For me unfortunately ive been hit by this cold/bug thing thats going around so was ordered by OH to take it easy which i must say is very difficult with a 2 and 4 year old running around so my figures are a poorly 2.74km walking. Feeling a wee bit better today so hoping to put in a bit more today.

  • Thanks so much for your good wishes kars, I'm almost back to new now :)

I'm so sorry to hear that you've picked up that hateful virus though, poor you :( I hope it doesn't take too much of a hold on you and that you feel much better, very soon :)

    All K's are good K's :)

  • Oh my goodness, that's brilliant news, congratulations!

    7.28km for Wednesday

  • Great stuff keep-on :)

  • Congrats on the adoption news, wonderful x 🍾🍾

    6.7kms for me on Wednesday

  • Well done lynalla :)

  • Hi all, still poorly!!! On steroids now to try to help ease my breathing - not really happy but desperation calls :/ - 4.5k pottering for me. Ed did 33.8k - 26.5 spin and 7.3 steps :)

Going to read about your accident now moreless! Hope you're not too sore today? X

  • Oh dear Kate! Let's hope this will get things shifted and get you on the road to recovery! :)

Well done Ed, putting us all to shame as usual :)

I'm a little stiff and sore today, but doing absolutely fine thanks :)

  • Hi Kate,

Was this the one you thought had disappeared? You can find it by clicking on your own profile and then clicking on 'replies' and then you can hopefully find it like that - that was the method I used to find it.

Not sure if it's the one you'd lost though?

    Lowcal :-)

  • No. That is the previous day :/

  • That's strange - I realise it was Wednesday now I've looked at it, you only seemed to write one comment in yesterday's thread - which was wishing someone a good weekend. Not sure what happened therefore to your other update! It's a mystery!

  • It is odd - I posted on asics this morning which is presumably why it 'stuck'..

    Oh well! ;)

  • Hello, was more working in the garden yesterday. Sweeping/shovelling. So haven't got any recorded kms.

  • I bet the garden's looking great though :)

Thanks for letting us know Steve :)

  • Oh my goodness Lizzie, what a totally momentous day for you and Mr Fizzy. Well done, how fantastic :) :) :) :) you definitely deserve a bit of Fizzz and a relaxing day today :) 5.8km yesterday from me towards our totals...

  • Well done rainshine :)

  • oh my goodness I must have missed something moreless- what have you been up to and are you all right?!!!

  • I took a tumble off my bike rainshine, you can read all about it on the wednesday part 1 thread :)

I'm just fine now, thanks for your concern :)

  • 17279 steps or 12.66k yesterday, and 11.79k cycling. Total: 24.45k.

moreless hope you are OK, I haven't decked it yet off the bike (apart from a "wobble" on Sunday) but I'm dreading the day I finally fall off - and it will happen! Let's hope the knees recover soon :-)

  • Great total Lexi :)

I knew the day would come too Lexi, I was just hoping it would be later, rather than sooner! :D All of me is recovering nicely thanks and I have some very impressive bruises! :)

  • Hi Lexi - cannot see your stats for Monday 😳

  • Sorry - did I not post? Not like me! Monday was 13238 / 10.07k :-)

  • Hi Lizzy, absolutely delighted for you and Mr F but also and especially for the little girl.

    My distances yesterday 20.5k.

  • Fantastic number Gonti! :)

  • Good luck for 25th. If the work you put in on this challenge is anything to go by, your daughter will be a very lucky girl.

  • Hi. 10232 steps for Wed. Great news Liz, I had friends who went through the adoption process, so I know how tough it can be. Hope you are OK moreless. After not riding for several years, I did a group ride and came to a stop in the middle of a deep muddy puddle. Then did a comedy tilt over completely sideways. Got covered in sticky mud down one side. Kept going and after 35 miles the mud had dried until it cracked whenever I moved! Hope your fall didn't put you off.

  • Wow, what a trooper to keep going after such a tumble Mrscaw - I was a complete wreck! 35 miles??!! I don't think I shall ever manage distances like that. 5 is my limit! :o It hasn't put me off though, it's become a do, or die mission! :D

Thanks for your concern, I'm feeling heaps better now :)

    Great number of steps! :)

  • I only kept going 'cos we were in a group and had lots of rests and it was mostly on a railway track!

  • It was still pretty heroic of you! :)

  • Wonderful news, Fizzy.

    8.08 kms for Wednesday.

  • Fantastic Don :)

  • Hi. I did 10 km Wednesday.

  • Great stuff Carpo! :)
