Has anyone seen this?

I have noticed this on the BBC website.

Can changing your mealtimes make you healthier?

It may be worth a look for anyone looking for inspiration. As it says, not practical for everyone but may be worth a try. The programme goes out tonight at 8pm on BBC 2.

I shall be watching this tonight.

One minute we should eat little and often and then the next we should be cramming all of our meals into less hours, i wish they would make there minds up!

I do like programs like this tho it will be interesting to see the outcome.

Sounds interesting, I'll have a look, hope it's better than that channel 4 programme the other night !!

Eating main meal earlier ie before 5pm is supposed to mean any evening activity uses up food consumed which has turned into glucose, if you don't use it up, the insulin response sends it off to be stored as fat, so if you eat more, earlier you are more likely to have burned it off ,similarly if you eat little and often you keep blood sugar levels steady and drip feed the glucose to be burned off. I think this is true after 10 weeks I am nearly 2st less and don't have cravings, I am sure that is because I have cut out all high glycaemic carbohydrates and am just having a very small amount of good carbs throughout day plus I am calorie counting. I feel the best ever!!

I watch some of these types of programmes more to see if there are any tips that I would find useful rather than to think of following a specific regime. Djas is right, it can feel like there is a lot of conflicting advice out there. I suppose the thing to do is just keep trying different stuff and stick with what works for us. Everyone is different and has different lifestyles, different ways of coping with things, different tolerance levels. it is good to read what other people do so I can try different things for myself. If it doesn't work then I try something else. If it does, I keep going.

The human body is very complex and nutritional science is still in its infancy. It's no wonder that advice changes over time, unfortunately.

Hi again,

I enjoyed watching the programme.

I was particularly interested in the results for artificial sweeteners (saccharine) in this programme, and my husband has now decided not to use these anymore as a result of the raised blood sugar levels and effect on the bacteria balance in the stomach - I don't use them myself, and I'm glad he's decided not to have any anymore.
