Oprah Winfrey πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

Has anyone seen the new advert for Weight Watchers???

Oprah Winfrey is the new spokesperson after apparently doing their plan and has also bought a chunk of the company !!!

She is now the face of the company and I would imagine a potential big draw for folk contemplating wgt loss.

I was always bit of a fan especially when she talked openly and honestly about her weight issues but I'm not sure about the balance of the message she will give out. WW's have re launched their products and as with all weight organisations it's about paid bums on seats.

Has anyone got any thoughts on this???

For me it just makes me feel so happy that I found this site, offering a solid healthy eating and exercise plan with an added wealth of support and knowledge from all of you lot πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒand it's free !!!

Oh happy days

  • Hey flossie, I saw those ads and was a little sceptical of 'the script'. Oprah has been quite inspirational over the years in many ways to many people, and endorsing WW will also inspire many. Now, to me, all the slimming clubs available to help you lose weight are just great for those who it is successful for and can afford it. There are so many that cannot afford them though, but still need support. That's where this forum is great, support with no agenda for personal gain FREE. Totally free - always. Each to their own in how they choose to get healthy, but For me this site rocks. 😊

  • To right this site rocks πŸ˜ƒ

I totally agree that whatever works for an individual is the right thing for them.

I'm just sceptical of what those organisations promise, maybe it's just where I am in life, older and wiser !!πŸ€” ( sometimes lol) !!

  • We're the lucky ones Flossie, we found this site, which for me anyway, was purely accidental and one of the luckiest days of my life.

I joined many slimming clubs over the years, because as far as I knew, it was the only option I had. I knew I needed support and was prepared to pay for it. Unfortunately for me, they didn't offer the right kind of support when I needed it and although I lost weight initially, I was never able to reach my goal, or maintain the weight loss that I had achieved.

Let's hope Oprah doesn't start to yoyo again, or the face might find itself with egg all over it, like Pauline Quirke and Lighter Life.

  • My thoughts exactly, like you I've been on the yoyo of various clubs over the years but never quite got there.

Finding you all here has been a revelation to me, not only has my wgt and fitness has improved but I feel like I've met so many good friends that not only inspire but give so much support and humour it's truly amazing

  • Oh yes Flossie, I couldn't agree more!

  • Hi floss, I've not seen it yet as I don't tend to watch TV, but one thing I do like about your post the most is your last paragraph :-) couldn't have said it any better myself (DITTO) XX

  • I think Oprah would sell snake oil if she was getting a cut. I think the woman is a liar

  • Oh you did make me laugh πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
