Getting started

Hi there, just getting started on here and have a LOT to lose but decided it's time to stop complaining about it and do something about it. My weight has dominated my life for the last 15 years and it's crept up and up! Feeling a little overwhelmed but determined too! Any tips for getting the best use out of this site greatly appreciated. Many thanks :)

Hi cazmaz you've taken the first step and admitted you need to lose weight so now you can start to make changes. It doesn't matter how much weight you have to lose just download the 12 week plan and stick to the calorie allowance for your weight. It's all explained on the site. I record my calories using the app myfitnesspal and that works for me. Try to do more exercise and you will get lots of support from the online community here. It will work for you if you keep on the plan. Good luck.

Hey thanks for replying, I appreciate it :) I'm feeling quite motivated and started with My Fitness Pal too! It's really good for tracking etc. thanks again :)

The best piece of advice I have is to make use of the forum here, there are lots of very wise and kind people and fun challenges!

My other bit of advice is to consume as many calories as you can get away with and still lose weight, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. I eat 1600 calories a day and average a 2lb a week loss.

Above all, try out lots of new things and make sure that you are having fun!
