Walking my way back to my roots

Happy Sunday all! It's been a while since I've posted so here's a quick update. I'm pleased to report I now weigh 73.3kg so I'm well on my way to achieving my goal of 68kg. A few weeks ago I felt frustrated with the slow progress I was making so I stopped calorie counting and decided to use my common sense as far as possible. I have also been spending time with my father who has maintained a healthy weight throughout his life. He's Cypriot and has always eaten a traditional mediterrean diet so I've been making an effort to eat what he eats and so far so good. I find weighing myself about once a month more motivating and less frustrating than the weekly weigh in. I've also cut down on dairy which was hard but I'm finally getting used to it. Finally, the weather here is now perfect for walking so I'm out with the dogs most days which is helping me tone up. So that's where I am now. Wishing you all the very best in your journey to health. I leave you with a picture of one of my enthusiastic trainers!

Lovely pic , well done on your progress so far that's brilliant 😊

Great to hear the changes you have made are working for you😃

It has given me something to think about especially how to deal with the next few mad weeks of family gatherings and other social meet ups that will all involve food and alcohol!!

Maybe after my next weigh in that's my plan ????

Lovely post and a lovely dog, look forward to hearing when you have reached your goal😃

😇

A lovely picture, both the one you posted and the one you painted in words. Calorie counting is a pain and like you I've largely stopped, but I gained a lot while calorie counting. It's educational and informative in the beginning, but once the lesson is learned, then it's time to move on and shape ones lifestyle into something a lot more intuitively healthy.
