No weighing.

Anybody else scared of weighing?! Well not scared exactly..but got obsessed with the lbs? That's me. I'd often have a good week/month and see the lbs coming off but jumping on the scales was becoming a 3,times aday habit. I now get more of a boost when the clothes sizes go down. Not good for small wins but helps me loads.

when I first started to lose weight I didn't know my original weight. I was too afraid to find out! Then I became obsessed and jumped on the scales 3 times a day! Now I only do weekly weigh ins

Glad other people are as crazy as me hehehehe :D

I haven't been actively trying to lose weight long enough to experience that, but I do apprehend weighing myself now as, for the most part, I'm always surprised, often unpleasantly, but at times pleasantly. I agree... I imagine fitting into those jeans again will be much more rewarding!

I got over-excited and weighed myself excessively when I first started, but that died down. I do weigh myself 2 or 3 times a week but only so I'm more aware of ups and downs so I see any small weight gain in perspective. I got more of a buzz out of buying new clothes that were a size smaller though, so I can relate to what you said. Better not to get obsessed with the lbs as you say, you know yourself if your body is getting healthier or the opposite.

My partner says I am obsessed as I get weighed every morning and sometimes at night too.

It so a bit of an obsession but I truly believe that it works for me. It allows me to control my weight more easily in that if I do have a bit of a blow out or a restaurant meal out, the scales will show this the following day. I then use the weight gain as a challange and make myself be more strict for the next couple of days till any gain has gone. Also if I'm getting close to a mini target weight loss I will be a little more strict till I achieve it then can relax a little ,ore. I constantly modify what I eat based on what themselves say but it does really work for me. I have eaten out three times in the last week with no overall gain and in fact a small loss.

People have to do what works for them. Questions regarding chocolate have been asked and my answer would be to go cold turkey. That's because for me it is not a problem but I can see that if others, make it work by having a little then so be it.

No magic, formula for weight loss other than getting your, head right and a whole lot of determination to succeed.

For now since its my first month I have decided that I WILL NOT weigh myself coz if I do i will end up doing it after every meal...m too neurotic not to...I dont even have a scale...will weigh myself on the 1st of December maybe buy a scale in december or jan wen i see some change, i think weighing in once a weeknis good though will do that after these two months have totally passed....

I started off weighing myself weekly, but got a horrible shock one Monday, when my weight hiked up for no apparent reason. It put me into a bit of a tailspin and I had to really talk myself back to a calm state of mind. Since then I've weighed myself daily, so that I can keep a log of how my body behaves. I've been surprised by hugely fluctuating numbers, even going up by as much as 5lbs in a day, when I've not even overeaten. For me, it allows me to keep perspective on any undeserved weight gains :)

I weigh myself occasionally. I prefer to let my clothes be my guide. I just find its too much pressure weighing myself every day so prefer to just go with the flow. When I do get on them I always have a pleasant surprise!!!!

hey there. I HATE weighing myself because i know that if i see a number that i dont like I will be totally depressed and just give up. So I get weighed by my nutritionist but she is only allowed to tell me if I have lost or gained that week! not my weight. My husband says its denial but I know that I will not be motivated otherwise...

I can totally relate to that. I used to get my mate to weigh me but not tell me any numbers. I would get a weight total every month. I found this much better.

Don't be scared of the scales Mike. Whatever the number is, isn't going to make a difference to your size, but the fact that you know where you are, puts you back in control and in a position to monitor and reduce it :)
