Hello all,

I wondered if you could provide me with examples of your daily meal plans? (1,200-1,400 calorie range)

Looking for some inspiration!

Hi again !

As I said in your other post I'm looking to consume around 1400 cals each day. As a rough guide, my eating would look something like this :

Breakfast - porridge with some whole almonds on the side.

Lunch - eg Bagel, tinned tomatoes, poached egg or bagel, cottage cheese, avocado

Dinner - meat or quorn and veggies/salad or something like eg. kedgeree, quorn bolognase with courgetti, tarka daal with salad, roast veggies with feta etc. I did used to have some rice/potato/pasta each evening meal, but I've cut back on that for now to try and reduce my carbs in the evening, as it seemed to help a plateau that I reached a couple of weeks ago, so I'm experimenting with eg cauliflower rice etc.

Snacks - apples, banana, nuts, and a Kit Kat every night !!

If you have a look back at some of the old posts, there have been quite a few good ideas for meals - ShellieL posted about a stirfry a couple of days ago, someone posted a curry recipe (apologies, was it PP or someone else ?), Ruth_canal_runner has posted some granola and snack recipes - lots of lovely stuff !

Again, thank you for the great tips.

Do you think it is best to ease yourself into cutting down on the carbs in the evening or do it from the get go?

How have you found the diet transition process?

I will definitely check out those recipes later.

To be honest, I didn't plan to cut the evening carbs, and found that I didn't have to at all to lose the first stone. You may not need to at all - just find what works for you. I just needed to tweek something as I had reached a bit of a plateau - and I would like to be able to mix it up a bit during that week, so that I can still have some carbs on a few nights.

I'm a bit of a yo-yo dieter, but can honestly say that I am really making some progress on how I feel this time. I have always struggled with snacking (due to boredom mainly), but feel that I've made a big difference with that. I'm also feeling like this is permanent change, rather than desperately waiting 'til I can eat again 'normally', as in the past.

Yes! I completely understand you. My aim is to readdress the extremes I tend to go on from being underweight to overweight and restore balance.

I will see how things plan out and let you know!

Looking forward to the next 12 weeks.
