I'm unable to print the plan out but find the posts and calorie calculator very useful. In my youth and up to the age of 20, I was very much underweight and after years of trying, I finally put on weight. All was fine until I got to my fifties. I slowed down, got a desk job and a few years ago I broke my leg. I put on weight gradually and only noticed when I had to buy clothes the next size up for our annual vacations. In January, I decided to just adjust my portion sizes and do a little light exercise. I lost half a stone in a month and got stuck at that. Some of the problems I have had are adjusting ingredient measurements for two people, instead of four people, since the children left home. I look after grandchildren and found myself finishing off what they had not eaten also.

On 07/09/15 I decided to use the calorie calculator and have got my weight down to 15st 1lb. I'm very confident that I can reach my target weight of 12st by January. I also find the posts on this site very useful and uplifting.

My goal is not so much to lose weight but to be able to buy trousers which fit, and don't ride below my belly. I need to be fit to look after the children who range from 14 months to 5 years, but it's also important to me to be a granddad who looks smart and on occasion wear nice tailored trousers and not ill fitting chinos.

This site is particularly useful because, I have a relative who is anorexic and weight is not easily discussed with some members of my family.

Hi Tewson,

How lucky are your grandkids to have a granddad who is so keen to be a super role model :)

It sounds as if you're off to a great start and I'm sure that in no time at all you'll have reached your goal weight.

You're so right about this site, it's an absolute godsend with truly amazing members :)

Don't forget to post a picture of yourself in your smart new trews when you get them :)

All the best.

Hi Tewson, I was going to suggest asking one of your grandchildren to work out how to print out the 12 week plan for you, but having read the last paragraph I can see that you're planning to keep this more to yourself. That's totally understandable! Welcome, and good luck on your weight loss journey. It sounds like you've done well so far on your own, but the support on here is really invaluable. Do you think you might join our group weigh in on Monday? Prin will be posting it on Monday morning, just reply and say this is your starting weight, then wait for all the supportive welcoming replies :)

I'm flying to Spain on Monday, but will join when I return. Thank you for the encouraging words. :)

Enjoy Spain. When you come back it'll prob be hosted by Lowcal, she's away this week but normally she runs it. But people just weigh in on their own too, just find what works for you. Have a good break :)
