Week 20 : weak as water !

β€’15 Replies

Hi All,

Hope you have all had a great week, I've been poorly so not caught up on everyone's posts this week.

Weigh today and 2 Ib on !.I've had flu and a chest infection so food intake poor and no exercise at all not even walking the dog. It's been a rough week, but feel a bit better today and been out with the dog, but my legs feel like jelly !! so a quiet day planned.

I don't think will I will make my target for my holiday in two weeks but it's more important to get well so easy does it. So Ruth this means my squat challenge is on hold for maybe another week but I will pick it back up πŸ˜ƒ.

Have a lovely weekend every one, I'm going to spend today catching up on everyone's posts I've missed you all πŸ’‹

Hi Flossie - sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. As you say, don't worry about the weight loss side of things, focus on getting better for your holiday :-) (Nothing worse than jelly legs when you've been ill and are beginning to get up and about !)

Hi Lucca,

Feeling much better today, so I'm going for a bit of a walk later. Hope the munchies don't attack !!! they sometimes do when I've been off my food lol.

Have a great week.

We've missed you flossie, take it easy, these things can drag on if you don't give yourself enough time to recover. I'm sure that 2lb on the scales is nothing to be concerned about, your body will settle back to normal soon enough. Also, of course don't worry about the squats - they were good while they lasted, eh? Not much to entertain the dog with at the moment though I suppose. But at least in all this you have a holiday to look forward to. Think back to all that you've achieved so far, rather than focusing so much on being on hold, and keep taking it slow and steady :)

Hi Ruth,

Feeling much better, and I hope you are right re the scales we will see.

How did the wine situation go ? Have you thought of buying the little bottles ? I know they may work out more expensive money wise but might help thinking ' it's a bottle' !

I'm a dark rum and diet coke girl so I think it's a bit easier, wine in very morerish ( is that a word??)

I'm going to restart the squat challenge from 1/10/15, husband said yesterday my bum looked smaller !!! So thanks Ruth lol

Have a great week

I think I need to stick to cider. Wine doesn't really react well with me anymore, but I really do miss it. I do sometimes get the small bottles of wine, but you're right it is more-ish, also I really associate it with having food alongside, whereas I can treat cider in a more dispassionate way, if that makes sense! I did enjoy the cider, and also a small amount of dark choc, and I felt in control which was the important thing. There are better ways to fix problems than hide behind a bottle of wine. I'm trying to get things sorted in other ways now!

I also like rum, but with ginger ale and vanilla, more a kind of spicy mix. But I see it more as a party drink. Rum's also a good addition to mulled cider, something to look forward to in the winter nights ahead, although I shouldn't let myself get carried away...

Great you've had noticable results from doing the squats :) My bf has also said my body has definitely changed, so these things do help it would seem! Hope you continue to recover okay, and good luck for your 1/10/15 re-start day :)

Hi Ruth,

Forgot to ask did that bruise at the base of spine disappear once you eased up on the exercise ?

in reply to

Yes it did go thanks, and Lucca pretty much worked out what it was from, it sounds so obvious now. I was trying to do floor exercises in my normal clothes, a bit at a time throughout the day, in my normal jeans and belt and no floor-mat. The belt was digging in and the floor was just generally too hard. I now wear soft clothes and use my exercise mat - which I had all along but wasn't using - doh!

in reply to

Well who would of thought. Glad it got sorted.

Sorry to hear you've been so poorly Flossie :(

Don't worry about those 2lbs, they'll soon disappear. It's much more important that you recuperate, so that you're fit and healthy for your holiday.

Take care of yourself.

Hi Moeless,

Thanks for your kind words, I am feeling better but will not be charging into massive exercise, slow and steady for the coming week.

Have a great week.

Hi flossie, sorry to hear you are not well with the flu and chest infection, you poor thing. Not to worry about the gain it's just one of those things that you can't help when you can't help yourself when feeling under the weather. I'm sure that when you get better you will see those lbs start to drop again and just in time for your holiday in two weeks time. Get plenty of rest hun and drink plenty of water to flush this out and stay hydrated. Hope you are well soon and have a relaxing weekend :-)

Hi Trafford1,

Thank you, it's been a rough week but feeling better.I just hope the munchies don't attack now I can taste lol !!

I'm sure your right and the gain is just my body reacting to the flu.I'm having an easy weekend.

Bought the quinoa last week but not got to cook with it yet but when out last Saturday I went to a new clean/health food cafe in town and had a bean salad with black quinoa with a ginger /soy dressing and it was really tasty!

Have a lovely weekend

That sounds nice not had black quinoa before. Glad your feeling much better and can taste now :-) hate when the taste buds go..

Just thought I'd let you know that Iceland have a new range in the vegi section with quinoa & veg, lentils and veg and cous cous & veg all lightly spice and all very, very tasty just microwave or pan fry it's definitely worth trying.
