Fish & Chips!!!!

My father was quite insistent that I go over to his today for fish & chips at lunch time.

So just had it all.

Minus the mushy peas, minus the chips and minus the batter but by crikey the fish was good!!!

The fish kind of steams inside the batter so it is really good, and also healthy! I've worked out that fish without the batter, about 12 chips (having given most away to my bf), salt and vinegar and mushy peas (and even allowing for a small amount of ketchup) comes to about 300cals. Correct me if you think I'm fooling myself, but I've checked and re-checked, and this seems to be right. I just have to watch the amount of cider I drink alongside it! Fish & (some) chips is something I totally allow myself to have - congrats on finding a way to enjoy it on your terms too :)

As you say, the fish steams in the batter and no direct contact with the oil. I had a small splattering of ketchup but ever mindful of my goals & targets.

I was able to make a choice in advance what I would & wouldn't eat. That's all thanks to the people on this forum for their support & encouragement over the months. Thank you all. X

Mmmmm, I'm feeling a bit hungry now - good thing I'll be eating soon! Your lunch sounds delicious - I also eat fish without batter, and I'd also allow myself a few chips and I would have a few mushy peas too. A cider as well if it was the weekend! :-)

Thank you Dave.

It's just a case of mind over matter. I mind what the scales will say by Monday and it matters that I don't over indulge with those calories! On target still :)
