Being such a fussy bum did not make this morning pleasant for me aha! I just tried green tea, never again...I almost spewed over my desk! What's the best thing to drink to help with weight loss? (not green tea lol)

Water! I sometimes slice lemon or lime and make up a jug of water with it in..

I like peppermint tea 0 calories.

The lemon and lime slice sounds really good to me, I love the flavours. Thank you! I tried peppermint tea yesterday and that made me feel rather sick too

You can also put a slice in a mug and pour boiling water on, if you want a hot drink

Everyone in work was laughing so hard at me...I spat it all over my work! I won't be trying it again!

You can get green tea with additional flavourings - I like earl grey green tea - but there are others produced by Twinings. The thing with green tea is that it can give you a bit of a lift whereas a herbal a fruit tea will not necessarily.

Also, it takes several attempts to change your palate and I would be inclined to suggest you try it a few more times before you give up. It certainly took me a week or more to get used to it. It is still not my drink of choice but will drink when I want another coffee!

As for alternatives, my favourite tea of all is peppermint and it is always my drink of choice when I am thirsty and it is calorie free.

Fruit teas can also be very pleasant and you can also drink them cold over ice. I particularly like a Twining one with blood orange in. They also do mixed boxes so you can try a variety. Avoid the Whittard powder fruit teas as they contain sugar I believe. Holland and Barrett offer a good selection of herbal and fruit teas although I just tend to buy mine from Tesco. The cheepo Tesco peppermint does me fine day to day. Whatever you choose just let it steep for long enough - I do find some of the fruit teas a little lacking if they have not been left long enough.

Lemon and ginger steeped in hot water can also tasty and especially good in the morning to get you going. If you are able to make juice then lemon, ginger and half an apple mixed with sparkling water makes for a decent drink without too many calories.

Here's to hoping you enjoy the experiment.

Thanks for advice!

Starting the day with a water with a slice of lemon in it is meant to do wonders for digestion during the day.

Otherwise just water is the best thing.

Personally I like herbal tea, Aldi and lidless make a love,y peppermint and liquorice tea, I also like clipper lemon and ginger tea!

Clear fluids, water based are always good, not good with black or green tea

Is the lemon and ginger nice?

Yes, I only like clipper one, the peppermint and liquorice is great, nice bit of sweetness too.

Fennel can nice too, a good digestive to

Thank you!

I love liquorice tea, as it has a natural sweetness (I get the Yogi brand from Holland & Barrett). You can get nice liquorice and mint blends too, as someone said above, good to know they have them in Lidl :)

Also look for nice chai blends containing bits of dried orange and lemon. You have them just with hot water (without milk) - they're slightly sweet and very refreshing too.

I'm drinking fennel tea in the evenings at the moment as it's meant to be soothing for your stomach, but I haven't got used to it, it tastes like weak soup :(

I also don't like green tea. It's nice in a Chinese restaurant where you have loads of tiny cups of it made from fresh leaves, but the green tea in teabags always tastes so bitter to me.

I also just have loads of water, which always tastes better cold.

It doesn't help weight loss in itself but when I have a sweet craving I sometimes have a buttermint tea from Twinings. It tastes like murray mints and no calories!

Sounds yummy, think I'll have to get some!

Don't stew green tea too long, 30 seconds to 1 minute and do not dip and dunk it.

Maybe add a dash of lemon juice?

Too long and it turns bitter and horrid 😉
