Cycling And Swimming - not at the same time I hope!

I'm always amazed at the resistance some people show towards such lovely, fulfilling, life affirming activities. Good that you've seen through all the fluff! No one who goes to the gym goes because they hate it! At worst they are avoiding a rubbish home life but even those people go home happier.

I know how you feel Yvonnenanny1965, one of my first posts was " I made it to the gym" and I know the "gulp" feeling. Just remember to start off slow and get to know the equipment, how to use it correctly to get the maximum benefit and find which one you like or even love to use. I joined the gym about 6 months ago when I was in no shape and was finding I was huffing and puffing but secretly huffing and puffing LOL. Oh those days were so hard, I had the biggest fear of stepping through the doors dreading people looking at me, but that was one of the greatest things I ever did on this journey.

I hope you enjoy your induction and take it one day at a time. You can do it :-)

Good luck

Woohoo - exciting! You'll be so stoked at what you can do when you thought you could not. Challenging ourselves physically and achieving new things is a GREAT confidence booster.

If you are worried about all the fit bodies there don't - they are too busing eyeing themselves off in the mirror as they do bicep curls while doing their sexy face into the full length reflection :)

And when I saw swimming I thought "*sigh* I loved swimming when I was a kid. Shame I can't do it anymore because I smoke so much I cant drag enough breath into my...

Wait! - I gave up smoking 4 months ago. I COULD go swimming!!...I WILL go swimming!!!

So thank you - you just gave me a little smile thinking about a new activity I could get into apart form walking :)
