We need to talk about jiggly bits...

Last night I sat down with my other half and had an extremely frank discussion about our bodies... Like, EXTREMELY frank.

The other half (OH) is also overweight and like me, has been for his whole life. He comes from

An overweight family and to him, my weight has never ever been an issue. Likewise, I've never found his weight to be a problem either and herein lies to crux of the problem: we're stupidly happy together, so previously there's been no serious drive to lose the weight for either of us...

Until last night.

I stood in front of him, playing fast and loose with my wobbly bits and he saw me fully naked probably for the first time in 6 months. I pointed out the bits I don't like and I want to change, he told me he's genuinely never noticed a single one of them. He then told me he cannot wait until I'm happy with my body and get my confidence back, because he's pretty confident I'll go and get my tattoos and be the painted pinup I've always wanted to be :)

He then spent the next 15 minutes taking the mick by standing naked in front of me and pretending to have issues with the length of his toes, shape of his nose etc etc...

The whole thing descended into a tickle fight and monster laughing fit, but after we made a promise to each other:

We do this together, we do it right and we only do it once :)

I am sooo envious. True love, warts and all. You have an amazing OH and he has an amazing girl in you. Every success hun, to both of you. 😊

Agreed, this post says a lot about how amazing your relationship is. The bit that stands out to me is the part about doing this weight loss drive just once. It's totally about that. Just getting on with making the changes we need to make, feeling good about ourselves, and sustaining an ongoing healthy lifestyle. Lots of luck and glad to hear you have this support around you :)

Wonderful way to take care of your health plans,as long as you folks do it with each other only.

While I don't have no jiggly bits, cellulite in my legs and arms are unsightly. Unlike your partner, my husband is a guy who checks out every part of me and finds them unsightly too. I'm trying to build two new habits, drinking my required 8 glasses of water per day and cook low salt meals. Hopefully, eventually the cellulite will go. In the mean time, I show the legs and arms that they are still love and my husband my other assets.

Haha thanks guys, I am indeed a very lucky girl. OH and I have been together 7 years (since I was 17) and even before that we were close friends :) we've never once had an argument, never fallen out or anything because it just doesn't seem worth it :) we have 1 rule that's really kept us so close: be kind to each other... That's it :)
