Can't hide from the truth any longer. Used this site to work out how I need to lose - a whopping 5st 9lbs. Must do this for my seven year old daughter if I can't do it for me! I also have MS so have so many reasons to lose weight so why haven't I done before now? Must do it this time.

Welcome to the group, a lot of friendly people here who can understand what you are going through, the hardest part is making the change. Its well worth the effort. You have some good reasons to start living a healthy life for you and your daughter. I have fibromyalgia and it does make it difficult to get into the exercise but start slowly and soon you will be able to increase as you feel better. All the best :)

Thank you, I really appreciate your kind comments and wish you all the best too! I agree, just taking things slowly. I know my daughter would love to have a slimmer, more healthy mum! Take care.

Welcome Clarkie11, as you've already read, this is a very supportive group and there's always one of us on line to reply to threads.

It is daunting when you work out how much to lose to reach an ideal or healthy weight, but day to day changes make all the difference.

I always want it to happen overnight, but have been really mindful this time that I've gained 4 extra stones over a few years, its going to take longer than a week to lose it (unfortunately lol).

I come on here and read posts, and reply to distract myself from boredom snacking, and 5 days in its working a treat, haven't struggled too much so far. I have plenty to do working full time, and hubby and four kids, but I've always found lots of opportunity for snacking, hence the weight.

Anyway, keep in touch with your progress, and if you need to vent/chat/ask questions xx

I'm in a similar position, would like to lose roughly the same and have a 7 yo daughter. Walking is helping me. I try to increase my step total day to day. Good luck on your journey 😊
