So it was my weigh in yesterday and in the past 2 weeks I have lost 5lbs which takes my total weight loss to 14lbs. I am only weighing myself every second week.

I am pleased to have shifted a stone in the past 4 weeks. My target is to get down from 14 and a half stone to 12 and a half stone in 8 weeks so I am bang on track although it will get increasingly harder to lose weight as I get nearer to my target. For that reason I am going to increase the amount of cardio I am doing from 3 times a week to 4 times a week - a couple of early morning runs on an empty stomach should do the trick coupled with weight training and a very strict diet.

Hope your weight loss is going well. Keep your eyes on the prize, stay disciplined and witness the fitness!!!

Well done great numbers, it's not unusual and perfectly normal to plateau at some point. I did for well over a month (6 weeks at least I think), I remember it being very disheartening, but it eventually passed, anyway pre-warned is pre-armed.

Good Luck

Thanks for sharing your own experience mate, yes I expect I will start to lose less as time goes by so I am going to work harder in the exercise department.

Pre-armed!

Hi :-) When I lost weight previously my trainers at the gym said that I should try some different activity to restart my weight-loss rather than just doing more of the same activity e.g. if you run, don't go longer, try sprints/ interval training or run up more hills, if you cycle/ spin vary the pace and resistance and increase intensity. They also used to tell me to shock my body with foods - have a big intake day and then not. I guess it ties in with the 5:2 diet ideas. I plateaued years ago during a diet and one night had a pizza and then ice-cream and when I weighed in 2 days later I had lost 4 lbs! Not recommending a pizza and ice-cream diet but variation in diet and exercise does seem to help :-)

Hi Mags,

I try and do steady state cardio and high intensity intervals. I haven't tried to 'shock' my body with a variation in my diet simply trying to eat approx 1500kcal a day. Maybe this is something I will try and do if / when my weight loss tapers off.

Thanks for your reply!
