Hi Sheufuh, It's very hard to stay motivated but it's about not denying yourself and just cutting down. I've been using myfitnesspal app that helps me keep track of my calories on a daily basis. The aim is to lose approx 2lb a week which has been very good so far. A few days I've gone over and it's not made much difference to my weight loss. I like the occasional choc bar and the odd glass of wine at weekends but I work them into my daily calorie allowance. The app will tell you how many you can have to help you lose weight. If you don't have it give it a go. Best of luck and keep posting. We all need help staying motivated :-)

You aren't the only one but the important thing is NOT to give up as you'll just put on more weight and you really do not want that. It's not supposed to be easy so pick yourself up and start again. No pain, no gain. My, my I do sound strict!

I nearly gave in today but went for a walk instead so stopped myself from a binge. It's as easy as that sometimes and the more you do it the easier it gets as you know it works. As soon as I was out of the house I knew I had done the right thing plus I burned up 250 calories so I can have a treat tomorrow if I need (want) to.

You will feel so much better about yourself once you've lost a few pounds. Your goal can be to lose 1 lb as that is achievable even for me. When you feel weak there's normally someone here to support you so try us first before you give in. Good luck!

Ha ha not strict at all eeek, well put! If it was easy we'd all be thin and no need for this great website. You can do it sheufuh, I don't know how long eeek has been following a plan but this is my 7th week. I've just managed to fit into a pair of jeans I haven't been able to do up for at least a year and that's after 6 weeks. Hope you are doing well eeek and good luck to you both :-)

sheufub I meant 1lb a week that is. I've lost 5lbs in 5 weeks and I'm very pleased with that :)

It sounds to me as if the 5:2 Diet would suit you really well. It's just two non-consecutive very low calorie days and the rest of the week you can eat normally - rather than having to watch what you eat every day of the week. It really does work and it's extremely good for your health. This little video explains it very well. I lost three stone in six months and have kept it off since April 2013.

The main thing is to work out why YOU want to loose weight and focus on that. As said here already it's about cutting down not cutting out. If you are trying to deprive yourself of anything particular it will be a struggle. It's also is about slowly taking the weight off 1-2lbs a week and set small goals like 1st half stone and then have a treat which isn't food or drink to celebrate. Good luck and don't give up there's lots of help and support here.
