First week = 6lbs loss πŸ˜€

β€’13 Replies

Im 42, 5'6 and weighed 200 lbs when I started ny new regime last Sunday. I've stuck to no more than 1300 cals a day and with the help of a pedometer managed 10000 steps each day apart from one day when I only managed about 2000. It's really highlighted how sedentary my life is. So pleased with results this morning. I plan on having a roast dinner and pudding today then back on the wagon tomorrow.

Well done you for a good first week. A few suggestions for your roast, I use skimmed milk for my Yorkshire puddings and one cla spray for the tins. Roast potatoes I dry bake on none stick baking sheets. This all keeps the calories down a lot.

Good luck in the weeks ahead.

Great ideas. I ended up having a Beef stew which was delicious.

Hi, on reflection, my terminology probably doesn't explain my journey. I don't feel I've fallen off the wagon, more that one day a week I am allowing myself a treat such as a Sunday Roast with my family as opposed to counting calories. I've been doing this for one week and I think that there is always a bigger loss in the first week, which I'm delighted with but I'm enough of a realist to know that this will not be so dramatic next week but I'll be happy with a steady 1 - 2 lbs each week. I don't feel that I've deprived myself at all this past week, I've made very good choices which were tasty, nutritious and filling. I should add, that on one day I had a McDonalds Happy Meal - even though I'm 42 - this was still enough to satisfy my lunch time hunger whereas in the past I would have gone the whole hog and had a supersize quarter pounder meal!

Well done for your great start!! you must have started about the same time as me!! I've lost 4lbs in my first week but haven't been as good as you at exercise. I am planning to get a pedometer and increase my steps as my job is behind a reception desk!! I've put you on my follow list so we can compare notes as we go - although, at 61, I am just a little bit older than you LOL.

Enjoy your roast dinner!!

Great idea @sopmarfree. I enjoy the pedometer but sometimes it's hard to get 10000 steps in!!

I don't think I have EVER achieved 10,000 steps!!! But something else I am planning is to work myself out a routine to dance to and dance for 3 records on the trot (or 3 tracks on a cd). That's 10 minutes exercise and a bit of fun as well!!

The wii is great for that. Got a few just dance disks that give u great dance routines and have different levels of difficulty.

I had a blip on yesterday's fast day - not sure what I was thinking but ended up going way over my 500 calories!! Mind you, I rarely use all my calories on my non-fast days so I am not going to beat myself up over a (rather big) blip!! I'm back on track today so I'm happy and I know I have already lost weight this week so I am still going in the right direction!!
