Yes, the point is not gaining weight either, and getting fit and healthy. Don't give up!

No giving up! This is a good way to go forward, and it will bring results. Don't be impatient. How are you feeling? Fitter? Healthier? That too counts. Do the right things, and the weight will follow.

I know it can be disheartening but you need to push on.

You could switch to weighing Monthly instead of weekly, this is what I did for the first 12 months at least, weighing on the 1st day of each month.

Weigh first thing in the morning, in the same state of dress, at the moment you weigh in the evening and because of this a number of things can factor in, for example the physical weight of the meals you've eaten that day, the number times you've been to the toilet, what you are wearing.

Double check and check again the food and as you are calorie counting the calories in that food, it's very easy to over-eat when cooking bulk meals from scratch, especially when they are for one as in your case, you said yesterday that you cooked a Casserole? and that you had left-overs for the next day, coincidence that you weighed yesterday, maybe, maybe not.

Take body measurements, it might be you are getting trimmer and if this is the case it can be a real morale booster.

Also if you have not done so already, ask your GP to run some standard blood tests for you, Thyroid Function, Blood Glucose and HbA1c etc.

Keep your chin up :)

You may be eating real foods, but you must be eating still too much of it if you are not losing. My advice would be to cut down a little (not too drastic) and give it another two weeks. If you are still not losing, you need to cut down a little more until you reach that quantity of food intake where you are losing a pound or so a week.

I cook for myself too. I generally cook meals for 4 then divide by 4 - but sometimes I can divide the meal by 6 and still have a good portion! Also I cook 50g of both pasta and rice, and 100g potatoes. Not really eating bread - just have 1 slice (toasted) for beans, eggs etc. keep loaf in the freezer and take out a slice at a time to save waste. Seems to be working - as of this morning have 2k to go to target!

I echo everyone else, Steve, don't give up! Your body is getting used to the change in eating, and if the first fat to go is the stuff in the middle of your body, it may not be obvious, but it will be improving your health.

My husband found that it took several weeks before there was any weight loss, but in the mean time he was able to give up his blood pressure medicine, which showed that his body was getting more healthy.

Hang on in there!

You have a lot of support and people wishing you well . You know yourself you have a lot to lose and it is not going to go overnight. Stop beating yourself up. Look at how much you have already lost. Hang onto that thought and move on. Check your portion sizes, weight of food , calories, eating/ drinking enough/ too much adjust accordingly. Keep exercising as that will also improve your mood.

Plateaus happen , but most people do eventually lose more weight. We all get fed up when we've been doing so well and then stick.

Try on old clothes when at your biggest, maybe they are a bit looser, that should motivate you.

Just hang in there.

Hang on in there, don't give up. Stay off the scales go by how your clothes feel.

stick with it Steve! I've been struggling this last week and so keep trying to remind myself that it's about the rest of my life. it's going to take more than a few weeks to change but it's got to be worth it.
