Hi and welcome to the site :-)

Everybody is different and its all about finding what works for you.

I count calories using a wonderful app called "myfitnesspal" and the charts from the nhs 12 week plan to record it all. I also have an exercise journal. Each day I write what exercise I have done. Eventually I will turn it into more of a weight loss diary to track mood and emotions to so I can look back and see what triggera comfort eating etc.... this may not work for everyone, some people like clubs like slimming world or weight watchers.

I would recommend maybe starting with the 12 week plan, can download from the nhs website and see how you get on with it.

Then after a few weeks see where you are and tweak what isn't working from you and go from there

good luck
