Failing Miserably

What else can I say? I'm 6 weeks in and have lost nothing - I've allowed myself to slip into bad eating (and drinking) habits, also had a few ups and downs with work and home life and been 'emotional' eating. No excuse, it's my own fault - really need to get down to it and get on with it. so annoyed with myself :(

We have all been there - I have been up and down and basically the same weight for some considerable time - way longer than 6 weeks. It is all about mindset and deciding when you mean it - only you can do it - (but you will get support:-).

So pick yourself - dust yourself down and start again as you mean to go on - I only speak as someone with a resolve of two weeks !! But I have lost 3 pounds - so it is a start.

Dont beat yourself up, we all have bad days, tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start, you now know where things have been going wrong, try keeping a food diary, I food the myfitnesspal app great for this, you will find yourself more aware of what you are eating if you track it. Find exercisesyou can do while watching the tv and keep on track. Everyones journey is different, you've started off rocky, nows the time to tweak it and go from there, take it one day at a time you will get there. Good luck :-)

Hey please don't be so down on yourself! If you're having a hard time emotionally sometimes trying to lose weight at the same time just seems like another huge chore on top of everything else! I'm sure you are doing great, and if you really do feel 'stuck' how about seeing tomorrow as if you're starting brand new from scratch again? If you can, get yourself some of your favourite weightloss treats - I love frozen raspberries, they always make me feel virtuous but happy that I'm eating something healthy.

I'm so sorry you're having a tough time, make sure to look after yourself!

Don't be so hard on yourself after years of bad eating habits it can be very difficult to turn things around, it's not going to happen overnight! I've been there many times,

just now I have no motivation whatsoever and I am wondering if I have a form of Morbid Obesity. I am feeling under enormous pressure to slim because I am unwell and this is not helping one little bit. Suggestions I can offer none, just think though

you are not alone. Love to hear from anybody in the same position.

I can share the overwhelming pressure to slim....it only increases the sadness, which in turn brings out our need for comfort food.

Maybe if we just concentrate on one day at at time??? Forget yesterday/tomorrow....lets just stick to this today???

I've just posted something similar myself Jane. I'm sure if I planned ahead for my weekends I would achieve better control. Lets' start today and have no guilt feeling for past mistakes! New day NEW START!

Week-ends! Have to love them and hate them at the same time. It is much easier staying on track during the regular week and schedule but an invitation out on the week-end to enjoy a glass of wine or dinner with friends or a trip to market on Saturday with wonderful baked temptations. Have just tried to stick with the basics for the last few week-ends and at the same time, realize that one has to live as well. One or two little slips but not "whole hog" eating and drinking everything in sight.

I can empathise: I haven't lost anything either. Yet, I am not giving up! Some things have improved, even though I am not losing, e.g. I am sleeping more; I eat healthier (just too much).

We just have to take it day by day, meal by meal, snack by snack.

Habits can be hard to break, especially if you are trying to change a lot at one go. Perhaps try changing just one thing at a time, until that becomes a new habit. Adding something in before taking something away can often work better.

This link has suggestions on different changes you could make, but you probably don't need the amount of protein quoted.

Try not to be annoyed with yourself. Keep your annoyance for the food manufacturers who work so hard to make addictive food and drink.

Hi Jane73,

As the old song says, then, pick yourself up, brush yourself down and start all over again.

Just see it as a learning curve. You now have a bit of extra knowledge into what bit of the weight loss journey is hard for you. So, now, armed with that insight, just get back on that weight loss bus!

Well, you can always make a good start. Then, when you're ready to start again, make sure to discipline yourself. Embrace clean eating routines and regular exercise. You can also try using thermofit as it promotes increased calorie burning and aids in weight loss.

It's just part of your healthy living journey. I've been there before and most of us also. Last three years I weigh 165 pounds, 5'3 in height and I was teased and rejected. Since then I decided to make a serious plan to achieve the weight that I desire, not only to have a great appearance but to have a healthy body and mind. I get a membership in one of the gym where my buddy was working out. I also do cardio and healthy eating. In just 1 month I saw a great change in my body and of course in my self confidence. Now I'm 99 pounds and with lots of friends. Exercise, healthy eating and body wraps for body toning helps me to achieve my weight goal.
