1st Day of student dieting

1st day of my diet has gone well, drank 2 liters of water, snacked on healthy snacks and kept my calorie intake down with scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, and a homemade chili with loads of veg like chick peas, sweetcorn, peppers and sweet potato. Its hard for me not to stress eat as I have an essay due but I have started the plan and seem to be getting somewhere with it, although i have kind of worked through dinner and now am quite hungry but don't want to eat late as I find that is when i tend to eat most unhealthily.

Sounds good. Maybe keep some yogurt, soup or instant oats on standby for evenings when you did not get round to dinner, but don't want to eat late. Something like that even late-ish at night won't make you feel like going to bed with a full stomach.

Or if you like smoothies you could have one of those.

Well done you, ( my first day today!!! ) I am just the same... I will eat silly stuff when I am tired. I think it pays to be organised with meal planning, shopping.. and always having some fruit handy - well thats my plan lol

Good luck! definitely pays to be organized, I have just made a spreadsheet with meal plans for the week and then ideas for next week, its nice to have one place where i can put healthy ideas and then incorporate them into my plan. Also I freeze everything! I have just bought those takeaway boxes, you know like the ones you get from the Chinese with the foil lid, I make meals and they are big enough for one person for one meal, which was a problem of mine, I didn't actually know what a portion for one person trying to eat healthy looked like. definitely recommend them

Congrats for making steps to a healthy lifestyle. Being a student, having time to stay fit despite the hectic schedule is not that easy. It's nice to see that you have a healthy meal plan but don't just ignore you're tummy when you're hungry. You can munch on a great snack like apples, nuts or yogurt. You can also do some stretching exercises after getting out of bed. You can clear a specific spot on the floor for jogging in place, skipping rope or using resistance bands.

Good. The key to this is by making a variety of healthy choices each day and not just sticking to one type of food or unhealthy foods. The key phrase here is to keep “Everything in moderation.”
