good luck! I started my 12 week plan 5 weeks ago. I set myself quite an ambitious goal of 2 stone in 12 weeks. Have lot the first stone in 5 weeks, so I'm hoping that I will just about manage the second stone in 7 weeks. For me, the key has been organization. I plan every meal, go and buy the food and eat nothing other than what I have planned. I did give myself some 'time off' last weekend as I had a couple of birthday meals. It was lovely to treat myself after five weeks, but it was interesting to find that I could not manage to eat much as I was full very quickly. Having a'treat' weekend once in a while is good. I am happy to be back to it this week. The other thing I did which I am glad about is tell everyone what I am doing. a) it means they support you and don't try to tempt you with high calorie snacks and b) you are more motivated to stick to what you have said. Good luck and go for it.

That's great a great loss well done. I'm aiming for 1 stone 1/2 more if I manage more! I'm trying to get around counting calories!! I'm planning my menu too!! And the big challenge will be the weekend and not trying to drink!! Thanks for your support though

funny you should mention drinking and the weekend. I also found this the hardest bit as I usually enjoyed a bottle or two of wine at the weekend and saw it as my reward. I decided that I would not cut out completely but I now buy myself one little bottle of wine (quarter bottle) and I really savour it! at only 145 calories I can still keep my calorie intake down on a Friday. Sometimes I have a can of gin and diet tonic (93 calories) instead. Cutting out large amounts of alcohol has really helped though. The money I used to spend on a couple of nice bottles of wine, I now spend on really nice, but low calorie food treats - such as the Hestin smoked salmon soaked in gin and juniper hmmmmm delicious with poached eggs. After 5 weeks I have definitely broken the alcohol habbit.

HI, Just like you I enjoyed a drink at the weekends , my Husband works long hours as an LGV Driver so we would sit down and have a drink of wine , I still have a drink but now I have a drink of the LOW ALCHOL WINES you can get and they are also lower in calories than a normal wine so I don't feel I am missing out on our time together but I am also sticking to my diet .

that's a great idea! Just tearing myself away from work and will look to purchase some on the way home. Enjoy your glass this evening :-)

Hi just wanted to say good luck - I'm starting now! On a Friday night... Must be mad. But so frustrated that I can't seem to stick to my good intentions, so thought I'd commit to this and just try my best. It helps to hear other people's stories doesn't it? Anyway best of luck, let's hope we both stick with it :)

Hi. I know the week end are my weakness. Like you I don't seem to keep on track sometimes. But we do need treats as well! We'll have to keep each other on track!!

How did your weekend go? I didn't have a great day Saturday but pulled it back yesterday to finish 0.5 lbs lighter than on Thursday. Didn't even have a pie at the football match yesterday (my son + I look forward to them) - took a pack of low sugar polos instead! How about you?

I don't drink much at all, when I do Max is 4 g/T's I keep a calorie food plan, and a pocket size note padand Cal's & carbs pocket size book.I got it in my handbag when I go out,but its useualy on the dinner table.much to my surprise I do usually stay 100 or 200 under.its a real shock what calories are in food.its the first time ever I have done it,and its becoming a bit of an obsession.but at the same time it is food education, which is what its all about realty.its early day as its only been 2 weeks now,but I am hoping it will stay part of my lifestyle
