Hi Karen,

I use Myfitnesspal too - and I usually try to aim for the 'net' calories to be below or close to my allotted calorie allowance. I know that some people don't eat their exercise calories (if you see what I mean), and so they would be looking at the overall calories and not the 'net' calories. But I believe that as long as the net calories are within the allotted allowance, you should lose some weight each week.

Sorry, I don't think I've worded that very well.

Good luck with your weight loss goal. Losing up to 2 pounds per week is healthy weight loss, so hopefully you could lose your weight in approximately 4 weeks, but even if you only lose 1 pound a week, it would be a healthy weight loss rate, and you'd be more likely to hopefully keep it off if you're making healthy choices. Doing regular exercise is helpful. The NHS weight loss pages are really useful, as they give a structured 12 week plan to follow - have you seen it?

I'm trying to lose my final stone at the moment, and am finding that my weight is tending to go up and down a bit at the moment. I've not had a great week, but think it was due to being pre-menstrual, and I'm hoping to lose again next week.

Hope you have a great week.

Lowcal :-)

Hi, I use myfitnesspal too .... I have gradually lost 16lbs. I now have 12lbs to go. For the first 3 months I kept more or less to 1200 cals a day and lost around 1lb a week. It was warm and salad season so I didnt find it difficult. But the last 2 months have involved visitors and holidays and I have really struggled with 1200 and have "eaten" my exercise calories as per my pedometer (I think more realistic than mfp calculation) . On average 1394 cals per day! Its been ok, slow but ok, but I do think I may have to get back to just 1200 to shed my last 12lbs.

I never ate my exercise calories when I was trying to lose weight. That's Dr Michael Mosley's advice as he says your exercise calories are a bonus.

I don't eat my excercise calories back . People tend to overestimate their excercise calories burned and end up eating more than their allowance...

That was my question too.

But decide not even log the exercise in. Too complicate!!!!!! Rs rs

I do not eat the calories i loose exercising because i also think that it is the bonus.

Hi,

Sometimes I will eat my exercise calories and sometimes I don't, I still lose weight either way. I do try to keep my net under the 1200 calories. Sometimes I find that if I do a lot of exercise but only eat 1200 calories total not 1200 net then I get dizzy and feel hungry, I don't think you have to feel hungry to lose weight and you also need enough 'fuel' for the exercise.
