Starting a new diet next week on Monday as it is mid week (Wednesday). This is a picture of me a few years ago going out for a meal. I am still this size and need to loose weight and stick to a diet in order to be healthier.

Good for you! I would suggest NOT starting on Monday but from today make one small change. Maybe it is to not snack on anything unhealthy today, maybe it is to have a smaller portion at dinner. Maybe it is only to write down what you have eaten today and find out the total calories for your portion sizes that you are currently eating. (Knowledge is power... I will never forget the day I found out how many calories a Ferrero Rocher is- you know one of those tiny chocolate hazelnut balls- I could have wept!- 73!!!!! One small tiny ball was 73 calories!!! ARGH!!!! And I had just eaten 4....)

You are not so overweight :-) Plus you look to have age on your side. I think you will be able to see great changes in short amount of time.

Good luck!!!! :-)

Thank you all for such positive responses to my post, I really appreciate it.

Thank you Kiwifruit1, I have made a start today by cutting down on some of my every day snack thing's and as well as fizzy drinks. Although I did slip up when it came to cherry Coca Cola, as that is my favorite! I think that if I work my way down by having less of the thing's that I shouldn't have too much of e.g, bread, fizzy drinks, chocolate and others then that way I will get used physically and mentally to a different type of lifestyle. I try to keep to 2 liters of water a day, which doesn't always work but I always try.

Thank you for guiding me a bit more and giving me some advice, I appreciate it.

Thank you also to PersonalTrainer and Margrete. I will email you personally PersonalTrainer as I will need some more tips and strategies on how to keep up the healthy lifestyle.

:-)

If you are trying to stick to around 1400 calories every day, then the Cherry Coke is a killer calorie wise...

coca-cola.co.uk/brands/cate...

One can is 149 calories made up from sugar... So a couple of cans a day or if you are drinking from bigger bottles then it is going to wreck your efforts before you start. Maybe you could limit it to drinking it just one day a week? Or now that you know how many calories it is, work it into your daily calorie limit.

Good luck! Remember to keep us up to date!
