Well it's time to seriously lose weight.

Can't use the excuse 'I've had a baby' anymore. I want some self-pride back and to be able to move without feeling 'elderly'. So here goes. I have to lose 8 stone and it's daunting....can I do this?

YES YOU CAN!

Don't think of is as a 'diet'... It's about starting out with making those small changes to your diet and introducing a little bit of exercise at a time. Keep that motivation in you and set yourself mini goals at a time.

HA! I was going to say that and be a bit unkind as well. "I've had a baby" isn't really an excuse. Look at the celebs who look as though they've never had one. Of course life's not that easy for us mere mortals - and physiologically I cant have one anyway so I cant talk.

Do those pelvic floor exercises too. And remember we blokes have a pelvic floor too, but rarely get told to exercise them. I only did when I had back trouble and it was only one set of muscles used to get round the problem

Good luck :)

Thanks Soph. I definitely need to set mini goals as I've got 8 stone to lose! I tried to do the to 5K and that was going well until I ran awkwardly and hurt my feet. I think I'm ok with the food part! It's the exercise I need to work on and where to start. x

I lost the three stone I needed to on the 5:2 Diet (Fast Diet) in six months, and my daughter is now losing seven pounds a month of her 'baby weight' the same way. She's absolutely thrilled. No slimming club memberships or special diet sheets to follow, just stay under 500 calories on two non-consecutive days a week - it's easier than you think! youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A

There are thousands of success stories on the various 5:2 Facebook groups - one lady has lost over 10 stone.

Having a baby is wonderful, but it does change our hormone balance because we need to fat store. Unfortunately it's very easy to store too much!

You need to find a way that works for you. This might be the 12 week plan or the 5:2 diet. I find that a Low carb/Full fat diet works best for me.

Yes. You can do it. Don't use 'baby' as an excuse. When did you have the baby, and are you breast-feeding?

As others have said, don't think 'I'm on a diet'. Just eat normal food within reason. Don't think of food items as 'treats'. We were told for decades 'low fat, low fat' but this is now being debunked. Low fat diet foods are usually loaded with sugar.
