Hi to all,

I am now on my third round of 6 weeks on ORLISTAT. I follow a calorie controlled diet (MyfitnessPal) I try ride my bicycle on Saturday or Sunday or I do one hour yoga. As of today, I've lost. 5 lbs! I walk 7 minutes to work and back every day and always use the stairs.

I have cut out aspartame, stopped eating wheat and I have come off my GERD tablets, and stopped taking anti depressant. I feel healthier then ever but I can't loose weight. I weigh 14.9 I need to loose 2 stone.

Please has anyone got any ideas?.

What is your daily calorie intake? Yoga will make you fitter but is not a big calorie burn, nor is the walking, calorie deficit will be the surest way to weight loss. Have you tried reducing carbs and replacing with leafy and green veg, braised celery is one of my favourites, good luck!

Morning Prin and that you for your feed back, My calorie intake is 1400. I log daily. I eat green leaves every lunch time. I have reduced my carbs. I try make gluten free bread coz I find wheat/gluten blood me - that's when I feel enormous. I have dodgy knees so bicycle is my best exercise. I do sometimes ride after work.

You are doing all the right things it's so frustrating to be getting slow results especially with orlistat too. Quite a few on here have had success with the 5:2 diet as a long term plan if you search for gingernut she has some informative posts about it. Lowcal on holiday at the moment has a slow and steady approach and may be able to give some pointers

Celery's definitely a good idea. I find chewing it slowly stops me eating other things. The one thing that's helped me more than anything else is keeping my mind (and hands) busy, as far away from any food source as possible. Not easy, as I run a business from home :(

I love cycling as my knees are not up to running or many sports. Swimming is ok, but a bit boring. On summer or even ok days, I love to cycle. I have gone from 1.5 miles to school with my daughter to nearly 20 miles. This takes just over two hours, but I love it. I have slowly built up over the last year. When I get bored with a route or it is getting easier I add something on, change it, extend it, add another slope or hill. What is great is that I am never really that far from home because it is a circular route, so if I need to make it shorter because of time constraints, I can. The best thing is that when you have been working hard for sometime, you can almost feel the fat disappearing from your abdominal area. Check out "mapometer", you can log where you have been or want to go and find out exactly how far it is. You can even see the altitude and the terrain on road maps, aerial or ordnance survey. I think it is brilliant. So my advice is - do what you can and then ,when it gets easy, extend. Cycling is great for the calves, thighs, bottom and abdominal area.

Hi Janelily

I can't eat any wheat or gluten, and have found this site to have some helpful advice, although I don't think you need as much protein as suggested.
